That said one of my mates runs an Accurate Audio MBS-S800 Roon Core he runs with a 1TB hard drive installed and loves it. Reckons a sonic improvement vs streaming from his Mac Mini also to his Gustard R26 streaming DAC.

The Mac Mini is not exactly a high bar to beat...

I've never run one so can't say hey. The MBS-S800 at least has a built in linear power supply so won't be injecting noise into your gear if run off the same wall socket. I've a sneaking suspicion that's the main reason for his gain.

Last night it was cutting out again with mconnect streaming qobuz via the iPad to my boulder 866 streamer.

At this point, you should try using Boulder 866 via network as a Roon Ready endpoint, or additional hardware, either Lumin, another streamer, or a USB to AES converter (to use with your Melco).

Roon core connected to you router

Should surely sort it out I love the Roon app, if your moderately computer literate building a core from a NUC is reasonably straight forward I just put mine in a the hall way cupboard next to the router/switch and wifi to zen stream

I use a IFI 12V 4 amp power supply for the NUC (I think there is a new switchable one now that does 15V) the streamer built into your Boulder should be quite good I would imagine. Seams like a waste to add a Lumi when you already have a streamer built in,

I never think about the core going headless with the iPad as control with core is a great interface IMO

I had drop outs with Qubuz app to Chord mojo/polly but worked fine as roon end point with Qubuz

Just an update on this…I did double my nbn speed to 100, no extra charge from Optus for first 6 months. Plus I bought a non Optus router for $140 which is far easier to use and has better security. Unfortunately neither solved the issue.

I then heard from other audiophiles overseas. Definitely qobuz issues going on for subscribers in other countries but the dropouts  are only happening on certain streamers. Qobuz on roon is working fine for them too. Guess I will just have to wait and hope this gets fixed.

I Have gone back to tidal which seems to be working fine…

I have the occasional dropouts lasting about 5-10 seconds with Qobuz via Auralic G1 wirelessly (with room internet nodes + very high-speed internet) at the system itself. No other home internet users.

I have noticed that this happens mainly on the weekend/evenings, presumably at peak downloading time. After futzing around endlessly/uselelssly with enhancements and electrical concerns I now ignore it--as usually it goes away after several minutes. The majority of the time all is well.

Could be Qobuz itself somehow?

Just my 2c worth

Thanks. Will give that a go. Perhaps I need to try it later in the evening and see how it goes

Qobuz is far smaller than Tidal and you would expect their server capacity to be smaller.  I suspect that Qobuz may have dedicated servers in Europe and USA, but we share a worldwide server.

I've had problems with Qobuz where suddenly tracks on an album will skip. I solve this by playing another version of the album. I suspect the problem is caused by geoblocking of some versions of albums.

Yeah that was also happening to me.

You can also try using a different browser. I have trouble with buying music from Qobuz depending on the browser I use.

That isn't how Qobuz works. It utilises Akamai CDNs in country - just FYI.

Does anyone know if Qobuz are developing a "Qobuz Connect" similar to Tidal Connect or Spotify Connect?

I believe that Qobuz has been developing this for a long time, and wish it to be widely available as an integrated feature. It's very convenient indeed.

I know Cambridge CXNV2 and Auralic (Lightning DS app) have an integrated Qobuz feature.

The 'Qobuz Connect' feature you allude to is not widely featured in audio gear at present--I may be wrong about this.

From Qobuz App discussion Forum:

Typically with hardware streamers that have native support for specific services, the app will send the authentication (your account) information to the hardware unit along with the song requests. The hardware will then take over and stream directly from the source (the service servers).

Interview with Qobuz's Dan Makta March 2023:

"Qobuz Connect is currently in development and we are expecting to launch it in the first half of 2023. This feature will allow users to play Qobuz right out of our app to whatever audio hardware they choose."

I hope this helps.

Sounds like it might be time for you to rethink your whole streaming setup starting from scratch. There are a few good plug and play streaming hardware that are almost foolproof. Keep it simple. I use bluesound node, squeezebox touch and occasionally my hiby r6ii as front end and all work faultlessly. I always buy used so any one of them is the same price as roon.

I got to the bottom of this. Compatibility Issue with the mconnect app and the streamer I use.

Hi all,

anyone else having problems in paying a qobuz track in Bluos?  I just cannot do it and it keeps giving me an error.  I can scan my qobuz collection, see my favourites etc in the Bluos, but not play anything.  Qobuz works fine when -laying though its own app, likewise works great through roon - but not via Bluos.

anyone have or had the same problem?

Not having any trouble. Try turning off the node and turn it on again.

I think i broke Quboz.

Its been sounding very thin on bass and body recently, almost straining at the top end. Ive tried moving speakers, etc. I tried the same songs on Spotify premium and the body and weight is back. What have I done here? It never used to be like this.

All I can think of is to check your settings on streaming devise.  I can’t recall any eq setting in qobuz app other than streaming quality.

hmm, DAC is showing at 44.1 regardless that the Wiim is putting out 96khz. Something fishy happening here. Look slike a Wiim thing, not a Qobuz thing

I had a listen to 'My weekly Q' at the weekend. This is the first curated playlist that I had noticed/tried. There was actually some very good tracks and others not so, much like 'Discover Weekly' on Spotify.

Comes out every Friday, apparently. Anyone else had a listen?

Never tried it but see it there weekly. I'll give it more a look.

There's a weekly email I receive as well.

Will be interesting to see now with Tidal moving MQA on if there'll be any impact on Qobuz locally.

...would love to same the same about Spotify hifi but at this stage.....🙄

Can you bulk delete the offline library (iOS). I downloaded a heap of music for a long trip and now need that space back. Doing 300 individual deletions will be very tedious if no single way to delete the whole thing

Delete the app and then re-install.
