fjs Posted April 24, 2024 Posted April 24, 2024 A few years ago I owned a burson conductor and it would continually drop out streaming qobuz. My streamer is a bluesound node and the solution was to turn off audio clock trim in bluesound settings. I also have a dedicated headphone setup that also has a bluesound node and a Wiim pro and a few dacs. On this system audio clock trim has always been enabled with no problems. However about a month ago quobuz started to drop out on certain tracks particularly hires tracks for no apparent reason. I tried numerous ways to stop the dropouts and eventually decided to turn off audio clock trim on the node. I have had no problems since then. I don’t think the Wiim pro had any dropouts but can’t be sure. Getting back to comments from the previous post I wonder if the last qobuz update can effect the clock trim. I don’t know how it works but just a thought.
Kirby66 Posted May 19, 2024 Posted May 19, 2024 Does anyone know if you can re-download and album at a lower bit rate if you've previously downloaded it at a higher bit rate without paying again?
Dr.Funk Posted May 19, 2024 Posted May 19, 2024 Not sure, but you can easily keep what you have and convert a copy into a lower rate, I do it all the time making compilations for my car cd-stacker. 1

No, generally you would need to do as @Dr.Funk says. Do you use Roon by any chance? You can tell Roon to cap the rate that is compatible with your endpoint/DAC.

Now that I know what the issue is/was I’ll convert a copy to a compatible bit rate as @Dr.Funk said and compare that to a copy downloaded at that same bit rate - if there’s no difference I’ll continue to do that and keep the higher one as well. Never know what may be compatible in the future 1

You can download from Qobuz app, in my purchases click on the dots for that album and click download then choose resolution. 1
Dr.Funk Posted May 19, 2024 Posted May 19, 2024 If you use the right software you can take a higher res file and convert downwards, keeping it in it's original format, in this case .flac. But you can also convert it to .wav or the dreaded .mp3, I have to go and wash my mouth out now 2

Can you do this multiple times, for different resolutions, after the original higher res download, or only at the time of the original purchase? 1
Pete D Posted May 19, 2024 Posted May 19, 2024 I have not done it lately but I have downloaded an album in multiple formats before from Qobuz app. 1

I think the OP wanted to change the resolution from his original purchase download. I cannot seem to find how its done in the Qobuz downloader app or the Qobuz music app. For any album I have bought it is in FLAC or higher, if want to change to any other format I use an external program. I tend to like the file sitting outside the actual app so I can use it on my DAP or home network not via Qobuz etc. Still though, it would be good to know if what the OP was asking is possible.
Dr.Funk Posted May 19, 2024 Posted May 19, 2024 If anyone is interested this is the software I use, I have mentioned this in a previous post, I have no affiliation to this company, just recommending a brilliant piece of ripping/converting software. https://www.poikosoft.com/ It can even convert from/ to DSD! 2
Pete D Posted May 19, 2024 Posted May 19, 2024 (edited) I admittedly have not done this since the down loader app was made separate and am not home so cannot try it out myself. edit: I use db poweramp to do any conversions, seems to work quite well. Edited May 19, 2024 by Pete D 1

Genius @Pete D !!! That worked perfectly (although I've not played it yet ... family would be justifiably upset if I switched the system on at 4.30am ). I'd tried to do it from the download store which wanted me to purchase again at lower res and lower cost, and it was no longer in the downloader app so really thought I couldn't do it. But there it is in a new folder on my HD at the selected resolution ready to import to my server. Thanks so much 1

Mickeydamouse Posted September 6, 2024 Posted September 6, 2024 Hi everybody,Having just bought Clays Kompakt 2 and reclocker to use Qobuz from my old MacBook Air I’ve had a week of great music All of a sudden the MacBook has frozen and won’t let me sign in.It just says unable to initialise connection I can log in Qobuz on my phone and an old 2009 iMac but no luck with the MacBook air which I use as my server Being an old person I’am at my wits end I’am hoping someone can help thanks Mike
Demondes Posted September 6, 2024 Posted September 6, 2024 On the Mac are you using the Qobuz app or web browser to play music? Is it just Qobuz or the whole MacOS that is freezing? Can you still do everything else on the MAC? if it is just the Qobuz App, I would try Qobuz via browser just to test that works. Then i would go to the application directory and drag the app icon to the bin. i would redownload the latest app from Qobuz and resinstall and login again.
