It will show off the angel hair wire too Going to be interesting to see what the Mundorf Angelique contributes. The best I've used currently is Duelund solid core copper twisted together with finer gauge Duelund solid core silver. Very natural and just gets out of the way with great treble extension..... Very very natural. A lot cheaper than the Mundorf Angelique too. 1
nofacemonster Posted March 4 Posted March 4 The whole reason for me to get in to this forum is to get to this thread. I love full range speakers for what they are.... somehow it took me a while to find a pair I liked to keep. I had a philips AD1255 large 12 inch drivers and this is where everything started, they were wonderful for vocals and bass but highs wasn't just enough to give the pleasure of music i want. Adding a tweeter does take away the whole idea of having a single driver for music. After few more trials, i ended up with the JVC Wood cone which i think is wonderful for their size. They are not bass monsters but there is enough bass for me in nearfield listening. For me they are the only drivers i found that did everything right for me.
MattyW Posted March 4 Posted March 4 (edited) @nofacemonster I would absolutely look into procuring Decware Headwreckers...... The Lii Song Platinum-10 can come surprisingly close to aluminium ribbons in terms of treble..... With the right gear in front of them. They're exceptionally transparent and so will take on the character of the components and interconnects in front of them so are rewarding in the sense in that they scale incredibly well.
