Can you recommend me a receiver for Mirage AVS system around the $500-$600 price range?

I have a Yamaha rx-v430, which sounds a little

bright to me when pumping digital PCM

from my DVD player.

( in stereo mode using their

the receiver's digital to analog converter).

Using the analog output from my DVD player

, playing CD, sounds better.

How about a suitable cable?

thanks

Go KEC and look for Clarence or Chun for audition. Clarence talks alot whereas Chun is not. They are both brothers and nice to deal with. I got it for $728 incl GST last year Dec at KEC.

You stay Woodlands right. If you want to audit with yammy 800, can bring 2 spk to my house. i stay Woodlands too ;D

Anyway, if you're going for music, you can try Onkyo. Quite good in music.

Gee.. thanks for the offer! The receiver is a little over

my budget. *sigh*. If really cannot find one <$600,

then will consider the Yammy. (any specs?. I can't

find the website).

I heard that the Onkyo receivers are even brighter.

Never heard one before tho'.

Got the Marantz SR5200.

KEC got no stock until estimated end of

month so have to source it elsewhere.

Worst, can't audition.

So have take the gamble.

As a token of appreciation to this forum,

I'll post a basic comparison as a new thread.

Thanks to all who gave suggestions. I'll be gone

now to njoy the music.
