Hmmm ... seen like Philips is lowering their price to enter the Progressive Scan DVD player market. Just saw today news on the new Philips DVD765K at S$419 ... any info what chipset is using ?

Well if theres no DCDI logo infront like the Q50s i guess it's some other chipset then. BTW are you still using the $72 bi-lite DVD rom for your nintaus? How's the performance so far was thinking of buying a DVDrom for my computer so thinking of getting that one :)

The LiteOn 163D DVDRom is a nice quiet drive. the only time when it's noisy is when it's copying CDs. when reading CDs/DVDs for playback, noisefree

No ... since it didn't help much , I use back the original nintaus dvd player but find it a good buy at S$72 ....

The blue screen problem of the toshiba is a no cure from the drive upgrade as a per last posting but what about the mpeg gitches? Any improvement on that? :)

What type of progressive scan use in this philip dvd unit

and do it come with built in DD or DTS Decoder, Can you please comment on this new dvd player. Thank you. ::)
