Norman_Chan Posted July 20, 2002 Posted July 20, 2002 Hmmm ... seen like Philips is lowering their price to enter the Progressive Scan DVD player market. Just saw today news on the new Philips DVD765K at S$419 ... any info what chipset is using ?
ework Posted July 20, 2002 Posted July 20, 2002 Well if theres no DCDI logo infront like the Q50s i guess it's some other chipset then. BTW are you still using the $72 bi-lite DVD rom for your nintaus? How's the performance so far was thinking of buying a DVDrom for my computer so thinking of getting that one :)
lksey Posted July 20, 2002 Posted July 20, 2002 The LiteOn 163D DVDRom is a nice quiet drive. the only time when it's noisy is when it's copying CDs. when reading CDs/DVDs for playback, noisefree

ework Posted July 21, 2002 Posted July 21, 2002 The blue screen problem of the toshiba is a no cure from the drive upgrade as a per last posting but what about the mpeg gitches? Any improvement on that? :)
Norman_Chan Posted July 29, 2002 Author Posted July 29, 2002 I would say improve ... maybe by 30~40% but that is not my aim when doing this testing ....
