Just caught a glimpse of their brochure today. Need to charge $2000 in 3 months and you'll get a free DVD player. Didn't get the model. Anyone here got it? Is it even region free? :D

The model is S128. Supposed to be region free, RCE compatible, D5/D9, MP3, etc. everything under the sun.

I'll probably be collecting mine this weekend as my card and voucher just arrived couple of days back.

Just collected mine this morning.

The player is very light and quite slim too. Pretty decent quality. The remote pretty big, but I won't need to use it much as my AV receiver's remote is able to command the S128 easily.

Picture quality is pretty good. I feel it's slightly better than my Pioneer DV525. Sound wise normal.. can't tell any difference when compared with my Pioneer.

Can play all regions and D5 and D9 DVDs easily. A couple of D9 DVDs that refused to run on my Pioneer played without any problems on the Samsung. My old R1 Matrix DVD which pixelates and hangs on my Pioneer still pixelates on the Samsung, but did not hang.

Features wise, the S128 is pretty good. I like the ability to fast forward (2x, 4x, 8x, ... up to 128x). Jumping to to different chapter required you to pop-up the playback menu and only from here you can key in the chapter number.

There's other features like Zoom, screen fit, digest (draws 9 windows representing chapters on the screen), 3D sound, and a few more.

At the back, usual connectors... composite video, S-video and component. 1 optical & 1 coax output.

For a $125 annual fee, I think the S128 is pretty good.

Also comes with 2 years warranty.
