spazcowboy Posted August 24, 2002 Posted August 24, 2002 okay guys.... would really appreciate your votes/advice here. my girlfriend is deciding between the pioneer 355 and the samsung 228. two different shops at sls gave two very contrasting recommendations. and i know nuts about dvd players (my own dvd player purchase was solely based on recommendation by tcw :) ) so guys, pls advise: samsung 228 or pioneer 355? (she just want something thats reliable to play all D9s is stable). thx in advance!!!
dbchoong Posted August 24, 2002 Posted August 24, 2002 If u want something that can play almost anything, then probably the Samsung. Pioneer sometimes can't play some D9 DVDs. But Samsung command response seems slightly slower than Pioneer. ;D

Considering whether it can play 1) All regions DVDs 2) RCE protected DVDs 3) D5(Single layer) , D9(Double layer) DVDs Both the Samsung 228 and Pioneer 355 are the same. I do not know about the picture and sound quality. The only difference is branding and price.

(with samsung having the slight 'superiority' on this issue). how about picture and sound quality? millions thx to those who have replied cheers
