Guest ckkoh1 Posted August 27, 2002 Posted August 27, 2002 My dad's REL Strata subwoofer seems to be spoiled. It's also been verified by the KEC installer. Anyone know where I can repair this sub at a reasonable price. I mean, I don't wanna goto any shop and kenna "ketok" on the head. Oh, BTW, the problem with th sub is that the subwoofer is working, but theres little or no bass coming out of it. Turning the volume knob behind doesn't increase the volume at all. Haven't been touching it for more than 8 yrs already
desray Posted August 27, 2002 Posted August 27, 2002 Aiyoh...so long liaoz...get another one lor. The years alone is more than enuff to justified to get a new one. Tell your father about it... ;D
dbchoong Posted August 27, 2002 Posted August 27, 2002 Looks like the built-in amp is dying/dead. Why not open it up and remove the amp and use it as a passive sub? Since already not working, can do surgery anyway you wish. ;D
Guest duckling Posted August 28, 2002 Posted August 28, 2002 Repair is gonna be costly and for the age of the sub, might as well get a new one. You may check with Kingsley on the estimated repair cost.
Jag Posted August 28, 2002 Posted August 28, 2002 I get this funny feeling the repair will cost as much as buying a new yamaha sub. Anyway, no harm asking kingsley for an estimate. I can try to repair it for u.....
Guest ckkoh1 Posted August 28, 2002 Posted August 28, 2002 I'll be going down to Kingsley some day later when I'm free. Yeah, I also have this feeling that the repair will cost. Aiyah...really wasted man. We didn't even use the Sub much last time. I think we never use the sub on more than 15 occassions. Imagine the waste!
