Octave Posted August 29, 2002 Posted August 29, 2002 what sort of cable should be used for component input, can anyone enlighten me thank you.
Jag Posted August 29, 2002 Posted August 29, 2002 You got a few choices here. Off the shelf from Adelphi or SLS. Nice, good performance and expensive. Or use broadcost quality cables. Technically proven, cheaper and better (IMO) than the above. Or DIY. The cheapest yet technically the best option if done correctly. Search for "1694a" and "component" for the past 99999 days.
Octave Posted August 29, 2002 Author Posted August 29, 2002 hi hag thank for your reply can i ask u what does it mean broadcast quality cable is it those which r 75 ohm, thank u.
Jag Posted August 29, 2002 Posted August 29, 2002 Typically a 75ohm cable can have many grades. Ranging from domestic grade (lower qc, not true 75ohm)....... to the upper echelon's of broadcast quality. In BC quality, these are the tightest QC cable and with stringent tolerances. 1694a is just one of them. Broadcast studios can't afford to use cheap 75ohm as they are most problematic, esp when there are miles and miles of cables used. Skywalker ranch uses 1694a for their video cables, I was informed.
Octave Posted August 29, 2002 Author Posted August 29, 2002 so where can i buy this cable and what is the brand thank u.
Jag Posted August 29, 2002 Posted August 29, 2002 You can buy this cable in SLT. The shop name is LHS. Somewhere on the send floor. The cable to use for component is Belden 1694a.
