Jag Posted November 8, 2002 Posted November 8, 2002 Buy mid-range equip as those tend to last at least a yr or 2 before the upgrade itch rears its ugly head.
dbchoong Posted November 8, 2002 Posted November 8, 2002 M&K... ;D Nice, but your budget need to double... Also can check out Definitive Technology, Klipsch, Atlantic Technology for sub/sat systems. ;D Quote For those who are eyeing for small / sat speakers, there are not only KEF or Bose...can try M&K. ;D
Guest duckling Posted November 8, 2002 Posted November 8, 2002 Quote M&K... ;D Nice, but your budget need to double... Fully agree...that's why I put a smiley. ;D But for the kind of price you pay, it's definitely worth much more than the Bose speakers.
ck0112 Posted November 8, 2002 Posted November 8, 2002 Quote Care to let me know how much did you pay for the 5200? You bought it at KEC?? Mail me if you think it is not appropriate to publish it on the forum.. You see, I'm thinking of buying either one of the following, but need to know the est price for each of them.. so far, I only know that the yammie 630 is selling at ~750. The rest, I do not know. The amps that I'm considering includes 1. Yammie 630 2. Marantz 5200 3. Denon 1603/1803/ If the rest of the forumers know the est price for the amps, can please let me know?? FYI, I'm using the KEF EGGS for the speakers. Thanks in advance!! Quote i just bought the MARANTZ 5200 and went to KEC and clarence told me my receiver go with take 5.2 is a good combination and he also say that yammie not that that good unless is Rv630.actually i consider between KEF2005 and ENERGY take 5.2..but lass i chose the take5.2,believe me YOU WON'T REGRET IT... i bought the Marantz Sr5200 at ~580 but not from KEC.i think this is a good entry receiver, and it has 6.ch and 7.1 ch input for "future" use and also got DPL ll and DTS-EX encoding.and for the price wise is also can consider"budget"..hope this help.... :P
Fowler Posted November 11, 2002 Posted November 11, 2002 There are no differences in power between the RXV430 & 530. Main differences as far as I can remember are:- 430 spring clips, 530 proper binding posts 530 More inputs Buy the Yamaha if you want a good HT experience, buy the Marantz, if you want good music playback (But then again why buy a receiver? You'd be better off with a proper stereo amp!) After reading all the posts, one stood out and I would strongly recommend you to follow. Buy Queks' RXV800. It may be old model, it may not have PL2 but it'll kick the a** of any 430/530/4200/5200....
