username Posted November 11, 2002 Posted November 11, 2002 Hi people, i was playing with my HT last night and when i switch on my Subwoofer, the bass gave a thump sound. then when i cycle through my amp to different stuff like dvd player, tuner and stuff like that, everytime i cycle through something, it gave me a thump sound. it didn't use to be like that i use to be able to cycle through things without any problem...any advice why is it like that??i am using a yahama 630 Amp and a LF150 Sub. Thanks alot..
Jag Posted November 11, 2002 Posted November 11, 2002 I suggest you sit down and recall what settings were changed when playing with the HT. Maybe just a harmless setting you unwittingly changed that causes this. I never had such an experience before.
username Posted November 11, 2002 Author Posted November 11, 2002 erm..i think the only thing i did was to take the cable connecting my sub out and putting it in again... thats all..i checked the connection of the cable and everything is alright....
jw Posted November 11, 2002 Posted November 11, 2002 did you plug in the cable for sub-woofer wrongly??.. There's a RCA connector behind the Yammie, it says, "SUB-OUT", connect the RCA cable from this "SUB-OUT" of your Yammie, to the LFE-IN of your sub-woofer... cheers
username Posted November 11, 2002 Author Posted November 11, 2002 erm..i didn't touch the amp setup at all.. all i did was take out the cable connection the sub and putting it back it..sigh...dunno why cannot too..gonna call the shop later.
Jag Posted November 11, 2002 Posted November 11, 2002 Disconnect the sub cable from the amp to the sub. Now, lets start from fresh. On the amp, locate the sub-out. Look at all the possible outputs at the back of the amp and digest what the descprions say. Connect one end of the cable to this sub-out. On the sub, locate the left-in. Study all the inputs on the sub and digest what the descriptions really mean. Connect the other end to this left in. I expect a wrong connection to be the culprit.
