Seems like JVC is trying to push the D-VHS player in Singapore. They ran a series of adverts in TODAY talking about HDTV quality videos and the like. Initially thought that a private cable broadcaster was finally delivering HD content in Singapore. After checking out the website, it was JVC indicating that they will be showcasing their new D-VHS player HM-DH30000U as well as the much talked about DILA projector SX21 at the Hi-Fi show in Meridien Hotel this weekend. Wouldn't want to miss this opportunity to see the SX21 up front with a HD source. Have to say bye-bye to my 10 bucks then. ;D

I have seen a D30000 playing X Men on a TW100 and am impressed with the ultra silky smoothness of the video. Unfortunately these bulky tapes are not to my liking. At the same time the exhibitors also played some HD broadcast recordings on plasmas too. This were at a recent show at Bangkok. From my understanding there are already some DTheater adopters in Sin already. Less than 5 proud and rich owners.

Hmmm. are they selling the sources there. Thinking of getting some tapes for my D35000 player

There is a source that sells prerecorded HD tapes, you may bargain.

Send you an IM.
