Michael, did you read the user manual???...your problem is very easy to solve.. The OSD (On-Screen Display) of the Denon, are only output through Monitor 1 (the Yellow RCA plug). If you need to display it on your Plasma display, run another normal coaxial cable from Monitor Output 1 (yellow color) one to your Composite Video-Input of your Plasma Display. Then you must switch the video-input of your plasma to the composite video-input to get the setup menu display. Once you are able to get the OSD, then you can configure your delay time by looking at the screen. I help you save some coffee... BTW, i stay at Pasir Ris...if you still need help.
michaelhtw Posted January 28, 2003 Author Posted January 28, 2003 Hi jw, Ahh,now i know why i don't see the on screen display..now the real problem: i have connected the component cable into the plasma,& a composite video cable to my vcr for TV broadcast. Then the whole screen is then mounted on a big wooden board with all cables hidden within the board. Now i can't access to the plasma daughter board for any other cable connections. Can i unplug the composite video cable from my vcr & then hook it to the Denon to get the on-screen display..works both ways...thanx
ABT Posted January 28, 2003 Posted January 28, 2003 I think it can work but how often are you going to switch the cable between the VCR and your Denon? Not too frequent I hope.
michaelhtw Posted January 28, 2003 Author Posted January 28, 2003 Hi guys, I will give this method a try when i reach home tonite...hopefully i don't encounter any further problems, failing which,i might have to invite jw over to my place for assistance & then treat him to Sakae Sushi, how's that,jw..hehehee Anyway, thanks for all the insights,jw,abt,i hope to have my system all ready to rock by Chinese New Year..ohh,i also bought the Radioshack analog meter from kelvin & know next to nothin on using it..how do i use it to calibrate my system..guess i would need more help..cheers guys/gals
jw Posted January 28, 2003 Posted January 28, 2003 Can i unplug the composite video cable from my vcr & then hook it to the Denon to get the on-screen display..works both ways...thanx why not u do it this way.. VCR==>Denon==>Plasma Display.. Make full use of your AV video switching capabilities, connect the composite video output of your VCR, to a composite video input of your Denon, and from your Denon Monitor output to Plasma....this way, you will get from OSD & video images together!!!...best of both world!!.. Got it??..
michaelhtw Posted January 29, 2003 Author Posted January 29, 2003 Hi everyone, Managed to hook-up as per jw suggestion, best of both worlds, now can get OSD & tv broadcast thru the Denon..many thanks to jw & abt. Will create another post on how to calibrate system with Radioshack analog meter.cheers, guys!
