Two things make me chuckle about the poster for “Willard”. For one, who would’ve thought that Crispen Glover would grace a movie one-sheet these days. I mean, that’s the equivalent of slapping Reese Witherspoon’s mug on a poster to sell chicks on seeing “Sweet Home Alabama” (still the most disgusting piece of movie advertising I’ve seen to date). Glover’s career is making a slow upturn – which is fantastic. Secondly, the poster pretty much sums up a lot of things about the film. It’s perfect. Tone. Design. There’s not much else you can do about a film concerning a guy and his rats unless you want to take the advertising down a really cheesy road. This is a classy look.

I just hope the film doesn’t disappoint. Here's the new "official" plot synopsis from New Line Cinema:

A social misfit, Willard (Glover) is constantly humiliated in front of his co-workers and squeezed out of the family business by his boss (R. Lee Ermey). His only friends are Cathryn (Laura Elena Haring), a new temp in the office, and a couple of rats he raises at home, Ben and Socrates (and their increasing number of friends). But when one of the rats is killed at work, Willard unleashes his rage - and his army of rats - on his tormentors.

“Willard”, directed by Glen Morgan, hits theaters March 14th (not the 28th as we reported earlier). In case you didn’t know, it’s a remake of the 1971 film of the same name. “Millenium” vets Glen Morgan and James Wong penned the remake.
