Guest anto Posted August 27, 2007 Posted August 27, 2007 Hi Guys, I'm a new member here (and I have run this sale past the mods, so please don't flame me), and I'm looking to sell my Talisman T-35HP. The Talisman T-35HP was purchased from Headphones.com.au on the 27/11/06 to go with a new Cambridge Audio 840C CD player. However I have since bought a Cambridge 640A V2 amp and with my AD2000's I can't for the life of me tell the difference between the Talisman and the apparently rather good headphone out on the 640A (perhaps my hearing isn't as good as I like to think). Nor do i spend heaps of time listening to headphones anymore, I prefer my modest speaker setup. An electronic copy of the Headphones.com receipt will be supplied. It is in as new condition, not a mark on it. This model retails for $1049.00 and Headphones.com.au and features Adjustable Gain on the headphone out, and has a pass through and preamp out on the rear of the unit. It also has two switchable inputs. I would like $750 shipped within Aus via registered post (other options at the buyers expense). Thank you for your time, and I look forward to hanging around and learning a few things if i can. Anthony.
JA Posted August 27, 2007 Posted August 27, 2007 Hello Anthony, Good luck with your sale. It may be useful to post a pic if you can. Best JA
Guest anto Posted August 27, 2007 Posted August 27, 2007 Certainly, you may have to give me a few hours however. Hello Anthony,Good luck with your sale. It may be useful to post a pic if you can. Best JA[/b]
danga Posted August 27, 2007 Posted August 27, 2007 I've been looking for a T-35H for a while now. Just kind of wondering though, what kind of sound difference would there be between the T-35H and the T-35HP that has an extra preamp build in... I'd jump on it straight away if it was a T-35H. Been meaning to replace my dared mp5 for a while now.
Guest anto Posted August 28, 2007 Posted August 28, 2007 Hi mate, As far as I am aware (although I could very well be wrong), the T-3H and the T-35HP (didn't think there was a 35H) share exactly the same amplifier circuit. On all accounts that I have seen, and in my own experience they sound identicle. The extra dollars for the T-35HP are due to an adjustable gain section for the headphone out (6, 12 or 18dB), two selectable (via a rear switch) inputs, a passthrough that bypasses the preamp section, and a preamp out. These features allow it to be more flexible when connecting to various systems when compared to the T-3H. For example in my system, it originally sat between my cd player, and my poweramp. In this setup it was used as both a headphone amp, and a preamp for the poweramp. The selectable inputs were used to connect a second source from my dvd player. When I upgraded, the unit sat between my cd player and my Cambridge integrated amp. This time using only the passthrough function, as I didn't need a volume control for my amp. Using it like this allowed me to use both my headphones and my speakers on a source with only one single ended output. I like you was originally looking at the T-3H, however I soon realised that it wouldn't work in my situation. I hope this helps. Cheers, Anthony Edit: Just to clarify, the preamp has no effect on the headphone out. The preamp effectively uses the headphone amp section as a preamp for a poweramp connected downstream. Or an integrated amp with a pre of questionable quality.
Guest anto Posted August 28, 2007 Posted August 28, 2007 Pictures coming tonight also, if all goes to plan.
Guest anto Posted August 30, 2007 Posted August 30, 2007 Here are the photo's. Sorry about the delay. Some, lovely finger prints here. This photo shows the gain selector switch, the serial number of the unit, and the manufacture date (Sept 2006). This one's a little blurry. RCA Pairs are as follows. 1. Input One 2. Input Two 3. Pass Through 4. Pre Amp Out The switch on the left is the input selector.

Guest anto Posted September 11, 2007 Posted September 11, 2007 Make sure you guys post impressions with all the different headphones. Particularly any harder to drive models. I'm keen to know how it goes. I only ever used very efficient phones with it. Originally I planned some more variety, but I was smitten when I bought my AT AD2000's.
