mpireq Posted September 15, 2003 Author Posted September 15, 2003 to all: i've oredi purchased my equipment last saturday: - amp: luxman L-85V (30 yr old vintage) - CDP: denon DCD590 (many year old) - tuner: denon TU-260 (many years old) - CDP-amp: belden 89259 wif canare ICs - tuner-amp: belden 89207 wif canare ICs - spik wire: belden 1860A non-terminated ;D and i'm enjoying every bit of my music, listening to an "all new" CD collection and mesmerized by the sweet, yet robust sound reproduction wif my "new" equipment :) though i've not purchased any of the mentioned CDPs, ur valuable input is most appreciated and definiteli useful for my future upgrade :) now juz praying my old amp wont give up on me so soon ;D
SiriuslyCold Posted September 15, 2003 Posted September 15, 2003 well, congratulations on the setup! amps generally last very long :)
hw Posted September 15, 2003 Posted September 15, 2003 hey bro...congrats...that's the way to go.. enjoy your music! for me...it's still minicompo...sigh...heheheh..
mpireq Posted September 16, 2003 Author Posted September 16, 2003 SiriuslyCold: Tz! :) i hope they last too ??? i was also under the impression the old old equipment tend to be a little more enduring than the current electronics (my own consolation to feel better) ;D and i luv those transformers in the olden amps: they'r BIG and HEAVY! :) the luxman (~2x80RMS) i bought weighs bout 15-20kg 8) hoping for the best now ;D well, congratulations on the setup! amps generally last very long :)
mpireq Posted September 16, 2003 Author Posted September 16, 2003 hw: tz bro!! :D my hall setup was also previousli a faithful mini-compo (denon D-3030) serving our ears for the past 15 years until we decided to revamp it as the amp power starts to deteriote (have to turn up more volume to get same o/p level) and my sony discman starts to skip (the cdp in the denon broke down many many moons ago ;D)..... at the same time, i got a little carried away and decided to give up my car-audio-in-my-room setup (using and 85ampere AC-DC convertor)..... in the end, bought 2 all-new setups w/o speakers in a short span of less than a mth.... (1 for hall, another for my room) i need the ERS badli to cover my "losses" ;D hey bro...congrats...that's the way to go.. enjoy your music! for me...it's still minicompo...sigh...heheheh..
hw Posted September 16, 2003 Posted September 16, 2003 u sure it's the amp that deteriorates and not your hearing? hehehehe.. juz kidding! *touch wood* i miss my hifi :( *sob sob*

WAF factor? :) u sure it's the amp that deteriorates and not your hearing? hehehehe.. juz kidding! *touch wood* i miss my hifi :( *sob sob*

Despite the higher charges, KC DAT did a commendable job in one of my moves. Remember to insure your expensive stuffs just in case.
