Full Range Posted May 30, 2014 Posted May 30, 2014 I read this today Fish bladders It’s a disgusting thought but it’s true: in the US — and Australia — many beers and wines contain fish bladders. The substance isinglass is made from the ground up, dried swim bladder of a fish and is used to filter out particles in beer and wine, making the drinks clearer. Not only does this make many beers and wines unsuitable for vegetarians, but it’s also hard to know which contain this substance because it’s often not listed on the bottle. 1
caddisgeek Posted May 30, 2014 Posted May 30, 2014 Just so you know, a fishes swim bladder has nothing to do with pee 2

And correct, it is the natural bouyancy device in fish (and some other sea creatures). 1

ryzaa Posted May 31, 2014 Posted May 31, 2014 (edited) Where did you get the '99 Coopers Vintage from???? Local pub down this way have '99, '00 and '01 still in their bottleshop last time I checked, no current vintage though. Edit: noticed my side bar doesn't say I am in SA anymore. That is where I am. mikizee Posted May 31, 2014 Posted May 31, 2014 Is that the Highway? I pulled a couple of longies of Coopers stout out of my cellar that I've been ageing for almost a year. Also grabbed a 2012 Vintage. Will enjoy them tonight by the fire 1
mwhouston Posted May 31, 2014 Posted May 31, 2014 Guys, is the a Wine and Spirits forum? I can t find one but I did give it a blokes look.
ryzaa Posted May 31, 2014 Posted May 31, 2014 Yeah, the Highway, unfortunately their constantly expanding selection outweighs the price and I continue to go there.
mikizee Posted May 31, 2014 Posted May 31, 2014 Yeah, the Highway, unfortunately their constantly expanding selection outweighs the price and I continue to go there. Ever been to Belair Fine Wines? Over 1000 beers, biggest range in Australia. The place is sending me broke 1
Darren69 Posted May 31, 2014 Posted May 31, 2014 I am back on the old Storm brewing pale ale. Great for $30 a carton.

mikizee Posted May 31, 2014 Posted May 31, 2014 Well, the 2012 Vintage I had was FANTASTIC. I have always thought the 2012 was an average year for the Vintage, turns out it just needed some time. Wish I put more than one in the fridge! 1
ryzaa Posted May 31, 2014 Posted May 31, 2014 I have never been there, but shall wander up soon no doubt. First Sunday off in a while means: 1
