Their packing is 500gm.

Pity they don't have standard packing of 200gm for domestic consumers.

200 or 250gm will be able to pack in the freshness.

I have tried beans from both Hook Coffee & Perk Coffee. Recently switched to Paksong coffee from Loas. Purchased through Lazada at $24 per kg. Strong fruity  taste. Value for money.

Received a nice pillow of coffee yesterday. Dude at the post office commented on the lovely aroma.

Bought 2kg of beans, based on a chance meeting with a coffee cart guy, who used them. After having a cup from him, it has stuck with me, many years later!

I've only had the Woodford blend before, so will update when I've tried the others.

Bit of a worry buying so much at once, but I'm a sucker for that free shipping.

The good folk at Montville Coffee included a card, hand signed by the team. A lovely personal touch. There's also an info sheet about the production.

Some years ago I bought an electronic scale for setting up my cartridges. Now I’m going a step further in coffee and thinking about weighing the coffee. The scale does a great job . Ok it doesn’t have a timer but it’s still really good

I use a scale each cup. It works well for me.

I'm told it's not as good as a volumetric measure of ground coffee but that I can't do as accurately as the weight.

Red Gayo Coffee

Recently gifted some Red Gayo Coffee beans from Henry a member in Bali...Completely different from anything I have had before. I'm use to strong espresso type coffee for that boost.I'm half way through the packet , it has a distinct sweet  taste and aroma. I don't think it is one I would get use too but will  reassess after I finish the packet....

IMG_8173.thumb.JPG.ce6b3fa092b90ae11e1d81b26584f747.JPG

Sweetly and distinctively crisp, layered complexity. Caramel, peach, wisteria, cacao nib, a hint of moist, fresh-fallen leaves in aroma and cup. Deep, vibrant acidity; lightly syrupy mouthfeel. Moist leaves, cacao nib and a hint of flowers together carry into a gentle finish.

Notes: Coffees from the northern part of the Indonesian island of Sumatra are valued for their complex fruit, earth and aromatic wood notes that result largely from unorthodox fruit removal and drying practices called “wet hulling.” This coffee is a particularly refined example of the type, produced in the Takengon highlands of Aceh Province above Lake Tawar by the Koptan Gayo Megah Berseri Company from heirloom Bourbon and local Ateng varieties of Arabica. Compelling & Rich is uncompromisingly dedicated to offering only small lots of selectively sourced fine single-origin coffees freshly roasted.

like you, i too have been lusting for a slayer, but the new sanremo YOU is very high on my list.
Just waiting to see it in the flesh and have a play. In saying that though, i have the luxury of doing a custom built coffee station and the modbar is also a dream setup for me

Just a quick note to comment on the joy of achieving that slow drizzle into the coffee cup.  It is wonderful to watch, and a joy to drink.  There is the nervous anticipation as the shot starts to pull - will it come through or be blocked - and then it slowly drizzles through starting with a colour that is hard to describe.  If the milk is right, the foam just blends.  Wonderful to taste, and quite cathartic to prepare

I bought a Rancilio Silvia single boiler about a month ago.  Coupled with a Quasar Q50 grinder.  Simply Energy in Norwood have been my coffee supplier for 14 years, and recommended these.  Whilst the footprint of the two items is quite large, the coffee is excellent.

The grind (and coffee) is very different to a Miele in-built automatic machine (Saeco unit inside).  The Rancilio/Quamar combination is much finer and so much, much more flavour.   Once you get it right.

The tinkering involved in achieving that slow drizzle isn't easy to achieve, a bit like trying to balance a stereo system to get imaging and reflection right.  I can understand why some of my favourite SNA posters have also posted about their coffee experience.
