I have some of this too....vietnamese iirc but only good for slow soaking through the supplied strainers. A nice change to a pulled shot tho'

Press I find troublesome.

I just made a brew on my Silvia.

No time or hassle at all.... grinding 30 secs, tamping 15 secs, pull the shot 35 seconds, flush the screen and add some hot water 20 secs, 30 seconds, top with a splash of milk 5 secs and I'm enjoying a nice doubleshot in a couple of mins

Takes me longer to drink it tho...

How long does it take to clean your gear bro?

I can see why my mum still enjoys her 3 in 1 coffee. Tastes ok, and she can do it in seconds too..

If I get her the Nespresso machines, there is still cleaning involved... the aroma from the packets of ground coffee is lovely, but it's just too much hassle..

after a 20 sec flush I empty the tray later when its cold...rinse it and put it back...less than a min.

if I do a more thorough clean I remove the screen and give it a wash with coffee cleaner and maybe blind run the filter about maybe 10 mins every month or so. Sometimes I leave everything (portafilter and screens etc) soaking in coffee cleaner and boiling water for about 30 mins and rinse off later to reassemble ... it hardly time consuming.

Come for a shot and I will show you...its so quick to make its no trouble at all...just have the machine warmed up ideally for 30 mins - I have mine on a timer for the morning round...but 5-10 mins is enough time or even 3 if you are in a mad rush.

Cleaning a Nespresso machine is literally as easy and quick as cleaning a cup :)

Coffee is available from 15 secs after switching it on- quality is way inferior to Wiz's tho.

If ur mum likes 3 in 1, I suggest she stays with it- v v hard to beat if u like it :)

Hey Paul

Lost my what's app file just now :(

Can you post some tips on using that press thing I might have for a simple cuppa?

Anyway see you tomorrow pm too, maybe a live demo, cheers ;)

Just use 4 mins after you pour in the water for the plunger down, then pour it all out into another jug or all the cups/mugs so it doesn't steep too long.

Will try to make it tmro but will sms first

Wife's not too happy I decided to join the big boys with this..

The unit itself is a stove pot that makes espresso the old way and it also includes a pretty powerful steam wand.

An optional induction cooking top makes it easy to brew it anywhere. Myers had a $100 off for the combo so it was available at $799 instead of $899. And the box itself is pretty complete - two latte glasses, a metal milk jug..

Some good tips on the new Quattro espresso blend from Highlander Coffee here

I just started using FIJI water for my coffee instead of normal filtered tap water. Mrs Wiz says its smoother/creamier - like a lower contaminants taste I guess. I think it will our mainstay now too. We did this prior to the new Quattro packaging below. the I agree 100% with the 10 tips.

I have a friend who weighs each time he grinds so as to get it just right...I'm not so pedantic but grind quality is key...I suffered badly when down in Oz without a proper grinder and that was with a moka pot.

Yes Fiji is good and tsugar. There is also one more brand in NTUC which is good. (brown cap and label $2.2 or $1.6 on offer)

Something nice from http://www.tsugars.com/products-home appear at NTUC Xtra. Together with FIGI  water the acidic level is just nice for my liking.

Great nice to know that you like the combi.

Any idea if the Nespresso Maestria is more reliable? Is the internals still plastic like the rest?

The failure rate like quite high that's why the local MO guy is shifting to semi-pro machines. Hmmmm...........
