houng Posted September 12, 2007 Posted September 12, 2007 Our rep has told our boss-man that AudioGroup has investigated this "dealer" in NSW and the place is apparently a shed and the units are 110v and anyone trying to claim any warranty issues through AudioGroup would not be serviced. Even AudioGroup hasn't received their stock yet! Wish someone would investigate AudioGroup and their rip-off Denon prices
casho Posted September 13, 2007 Posted September 13, 2007 Any idea when these are going to land in Oz? I thought it was September sometime.
50mxe20 Posted September 13, 2007 Posted September 13, 2007 Any idea when these are going to land in Oz? I thought it was September sometime. We're supposed to be getting silver units this week and black and champagne units after Sept 20. As these come in I'll post more about what we can do for anyone here interested in purchasing through us.
casho Posted September 13, 2007 Posted September 13, 2007 Thanks Lyle I have a few black ones on order due in a couple of weeks S
JasonInMelbourne Posted September 13, 2007 Posted September 13, 2007 (edited) hehe great to see actually the silver units are coming and champagne ! wow great to see that return to the denon range. teh old champagne denons really had some class to them I reckon Sorry, Mate. I need to correct myself. The "Champagne" colour is called "Premium Silver", which is a lot less yellow than the champagne colour of old, but is still much better than the "Silver" IMO. I wonder if its the silver as in the avp nd the denon new 2ch series. which would be much better than the platinum theyve had for a while.
dantan Posted September 14, 2007 Posted September 14, 2007 think you might be a bit confused. the 3807? dont believe there was any such animal ?the 3806 ? sells for $2699 http://www.carltonaudiovisual.com.au/?q=node/view/433 http://www.tivolihifi.com.au/index.php?mai...products_id=293 and even that dealers were saying wasnt worth it over the 3805 that you could easily get under $2k. Sorry, mate. Got confused. Yes, I did mean the Denon AVR3806. I must be getting old.
50mxe20 Posted September 14, 2007 Posted September 14, 2007 Sorry, mate. Got confused. Yes, I did mean the Denon AVR3806. I must be getting old. That's ok, we young fella are here to look after you old guys.

Well, looks like I'm mistaken. There's only going to be Black and Silver. Damn! But down to business. Both the 4308 and 3808 are supposed to be in by Sep 20. So I'm now taking a show of interest as to how many of you would be interested in a group buy. If you're interested in the AVR-3808, please send me an e-mail with your suburb and state details and DTV Forum user name to avr3808@hotmail.com. If you're interested in the AVR-4308, please send an e-mail with your suburb and state details and DTV Forum user name to avr4308@hotmail.com. Once I've got the numbers I can get back to each of you personally with the final price we can offer you and how we can go about business and how I can help you guys interstate. I've not done one of these before so forgive me if what I'm doing seems a bit off. Also, let me know if you think I should start a new thread about this group buy. Looking forward to hearing from you and helping us feed our addiction. Edited September 15, 2007 by JasonInMelbourne
Aspect Posted September 15, 2007 Posted September 15, 2007 Yes, you should start a new thread, definately. Cheers, Chris

HeatVision Posted October 1, 2007 Posted October 1, 2007 Has anyone here got theirs yet? I got mine on Thursday and I'm enjoying it immensely. I went to play with the streaming net radio last night and found that I couldn't quit out once I was playing a station. According to posts on AVS Forum this problem has been addressed by a firmware update - I currently have 1.05 but the latest appears to be around 1.26. The problem is that every time I go Options > Firmware Updat e> Start I get "Login Failed" (well actually the first time I got "Connection Failed" but I think my internet connection was playing up). I registered at RadioDenon but that didn't seem to help. Has anyone got it to work?
Spero D. Posted October 3, 2007 Posted October 3, 2007 - Preamp AVP-A1HD 735000Yen = $7114 (Australian RRP- $12,999)- Amplifier 735000 Yen = $7114 - AVC-A1HD (AVR-5308CI) 598000Yen = $5786 (Australian RRP $10,999) Just heard that APA is expecting the AVC-A1HD(SP) (Non Preamp version) in next week which is interesting as I haven't heard of it available anywhere else yet. Lets see if it comes to pass.

Talked to the guys at westcoast today and they assured me that the 3808 and the 4308 is definetely coming within a week or 2 and the avc-a1hd and the avp-a1hd is due jan/feb 2008.
Spero D. Posted October 3, 2007 Posted October 3, 2007 (edited) http://translate.google.com/translate?hl=e..._AU203%26sa%3DG Thanks for the link. Definetly can't see it being next week when its out in Japan in mid December. It's a shame that even with the stronger $ we still get hammered here on price. $5309 Aussie $ in Japan for the AVC-A1HDSP vs a RRP of $10,999 here Edited October 3, 2007 by Spero D.

Better off getting the 4308, especially if you use a power amp.

I dont know franin, but you could be right re a big boy like the denon avp or the big denon avr could end up costly. the likes of price japan appear to be god for pjs and getting them here including frieght still well aussie pricing. not sure if they ship avrs amps or pre-pros
franin Posted October 3, 2007 Posted October 3, 2007 Im waiting til next year before i decide what i want and to see where it's all heading. At times it can become a headache.i was looking at the avp-a1hd then integra followed by the onkyo then the cary and back to denon.

Spero D. Posted October 3, 2007 Posted October 3, 2007 Whats the japan Voltage? Not via Japan but via Denon Singapore. Singapore's voltage is 220-240 volts AC
brodricj Posted October 3, 2007 Posted October 3, 2007 ...It's a shame that even with the stronger $ we still get hammered here on price.... Not really a shame, just a good reason to bypass a local buy and do an import from overseas. That's what I intend doing. But first, to finance the deal, it would be good if a generous enthusiast out there would like to provide a new home for my much loved Parasound Halo C2 AV controller, Aragon 8008Mk2 amp, and 3 Rotel RB1080's. All up replacement cost worth slightly more than what the new Denon Pre-pro and amp cost combined, so there is a bargain to be had.
