Problem is when I plug my HDMI cable from player to projector, it is working fine. Perhaps you are right, let me try to isolate HDMI cable.

Would it help if I turn off the EDID "enchance" in the projector?

Do this.

Take everything out. Just plug Main Monitor 1 output to projector.

Switch Denon to "Setup".  You see the Denon Setup menu on your projector?  If not, just try the Monitor 1 on another display device, using another HDMI cable to confirm if it is really the Monitor 1 output that is defective.  (Permanently no output)

A new AVR, I wish, but we are in the midst of a crisis so spending has to be prudent.

Agreed...restrict our spending if we can during these uncertain times.

Another thing to try out...Under the Video setting of your Denon AVR. Can you change the Auto (Dual Display) to either HDMI Output 1 or Output 2. This will help to overcome some HDCP2.2 issue that render the image not displaying (a blank screen) or suffering intermitent on/off.

No luck, unplugged everything, direct connection from monitor 1 and go to setup, it doesnt send output to projector. But using same hdmi cable connect directly from player work, looks like Denon HDMI monitor 1 and 2 both die already. However, I do agree this has something to do with EDID because when monitor 1 or 2 connected to projector, Denon refuse to take in any hdmi input signal.

Anyway, I will bring it to Denon service center after CB and get them to make a quote if I want to get it repair.

Try this too bro, but also no luck. Thanks anyway.

Hi. Like to seek some advice.

In my setup, all my sources are connected to Denon AVC8500 after which it connects to the JVC NX5.

I am thinking to connect either a small TV or a monitor to Monitor 2 of the 8500. Sometimes, i just need to check something quick on my ps4, xbox, uhd2000 etc, i feel is a bit wasteful to power on the NX5 just for that.

If I am to ensure only one of the 2 displays is powered on at any time, is it safe to assume the setup so be stable and will not get into HDMI resolutions or handshake issues?

Thanks

Based on my experience, should not be a problem if you only plan to use one at a time. Ideal would to have a UHD TV or monitor ?. This will give the same resolution on both.

Ya. I am thinking of getting something small and relatively inexpensive as will be used occasionally and for short duration

Maybe the 32" TCL tvs ...?

if all else fails, you still have the option of HDFury Vertex

Lol....i think overkill for this. I am on the lazy side ?, prefer just plug and enjoy. Haha

Yes you can...I’m doing that for many years now. And yes, as far as possible, try to get a 4K display (be it PC monitor or a 4K TV) when connecting to the HDMI Output 2 of your AVR.

2 monitor outputs are active.  You can even use Zone 2 if you want.

Handshaking issues are dependent on what HDMI cables you use.  Any one HDMI cable is below par, you will get into trouble.

Oh ya, i forgot about the Zone 2 HDMI. This should be independent right?....meaning both screens can be active and in their own resolutions if main and zone inputs are different.

Yes. That’s right.

A long shot.  Did you turn on "Pure Audio"?  This will turn off the displays.  Just a long shot.

My trustworthy 7200 recently has HDMI issue, any forum member here has experiences the same? If yes, how do you resolve it?

1) I first found out that the main zone main HDMI output (monitor 1) was not working and at the same time receiver couldnt receive any HDMI signal as well.

2) After that, strangely, when I unplugged the HDMI output from monitor 1, the HDMI input signal either from Panasonic 820 or Zidoo Z9S work.

3) Then I tried to plug the HDMI to 7200 monitor 2 output and it works.

4) A few days later, the monitor 2 output started to exhibit the same issue as monitor 1 output. It doesn't have any output signal and whenever the output is connected, the HDMI input receive no signal.

5) Now, I have used the final trick which is to connect the output to zone 2 HDMI output. Fortunately it is a pass through, so I get back the picture through zone 2 while sound through main zone, both zone set to same input.

Any help would be much appreciated.

I had a similar problem with my Marantz 8802A. Monitor 1 HDMI out stopped working. However, different from your case, Monitor 2 HDMI out worked fine. Problem with the HDMI board costing more than SGD 1k to replace (cannot be repaired). Sold my Marantz 8802A instead (with full disclosure to the buyer).
