Glad to see Denon taking feedback in a constructive way. [emoji16]

BTW did ASR do any review on the Denon flagship X8500H? I didn’t see it.

Yes, spot on!! Great Companies, Great minds, they listen, they take in the negative feedbacks, they work on it, they improve it, and they get better, it is only for their own good, along the way, it benefits us consumers.

I love how Denon has approached this, and their response, just gained my respect. Their humbleness, acknowledgement to the fact that the design needs improvement, shows what a great company it is.

Havent seen the reviews on 8500, heard someone sending it in... but not sure when.

But we now have a pool of data, for us to look at and benchmark across the various models

I think he needs people to send him their own unit for testing.

I see. No wonder his review is so candid w/o any kind of prejudice I guess.

Sekali results turn out to be bad for X8500H hahaha.

Denon technical representative is in discussion with the audioscience forum owner liao to see whether able to address the issue.

I guess is most probably due to the fact that when you google for X4700H review, it appears on the very first line.  So they have to do something .

Hi. I got a notification for an update yesterday and have completed that yesterday without any issues.

But then today , was again notified of another update which I did too. No issues.

I have issue with the x4500 update though. ARC did not work after the update. Power on/off on the mains normalised it

gd, my updating initially did't go well, hang for 45minutes, power off (cut off the AC supply ) /on, the updating continue and finished  thereafter. My friend, the other former, wasn't so lucky, he got to wait till the next day before the AVR back to normal, btw, is  your current firmware same as the one i listed ?

nowadays , don’t trust online update , is good to download then update .

If you get stuck somewhere , power off the set and wait then back to default may be the only way to recover the set , else .... good luck.

Yes, it is the same firmware.

Have many Denon AVRs over the years. My experience with failed downloads is around 2 times, but both recovered after mains power reset.

But ARC failing to work after update occurs fairly often but again, recovered after mains power off.

I hit into some issue during firmware update. In the end i have to restored back the fw to default and re update again. I tried looking in the denon sg and asia wensite to download the firmware but couldnt find any except for usa denon website. That why no choice have to download through online. I recommend user to download via ethernet cable and avoid using wifi if possible.

Good to know Denon is now working towards improving the coming models

This is beneficial to consumers and it’s the right approach

Good job !

Very impressive. Besides manufacturing VFM quality products, Denon never shuns away from the poor reviews. Instead, they worked closely with Amir on the improvements. Constantly evolving and enhancing their products. Also, strive to be the market leader. Kudos to them. This is what a great and successful brand should be.

From the review it wrote

"However, the right side of the unit where I think the front left and right channels exist, got very hot. It was so hot that it was uncomfortable to touch the top of the case even though it is 1 inch or more removed from the heatsink. There is a fan under them but it did not come on."

might need to find some ways to cool it down?

Nice ending. Interesting what had caused the differences

Well, does this mean that the other AVRs they measured, might have gotten bad results due to this similar cause ?

If yes, then its fair that they review their measurements on those.

The AVC8500 has another update again. For me, its like the 3rd time in 2 weeks.

But the firmware version remains unchange after completion

Not sure about the DTS version as I dont take note of that.
