Bros who have bought local set 3700, may I check does it still have FM radio?

Denon site seems to indicate no more FM, but some online pics of the back panel still has the FM antenna.

Or there really are AVC (without) and AVR (with) versions of 3700.

Hey Bro, I would suggest to use CPU fans on top of the ventilation. Denon always tend to be so hot and lead to HDMI board issues. I always blow in the air and very effective. You can either choose to blow out as well, but I see if you use computer fan its not very effective. But AC infinity will do a best job.

I diy one?

Also DIY with silent computer fans. Equipment all inside wooden cabinet. Works reasonably well.

I just checked my X3700H, there is no tuner antenna although there is a Tuner button on the remote.   With HEOs app, I can stream local radio channel.

I wonder if this adaptor will be free in SG..

This delay might work in favor of current 8500 owners..

The upgrade board may have a proper HDMI 2.1 implementation..

Hope to share some excitement I have with the Denon X8500H recently. I have X8500H for one plus year. It replaces my Denon AVP A1HD and was connected to my Denon POA A1HD (before the POA A1HD gave way after a recent black out and Denon has no more spare parts to service it). I have a 7.1 speakers setup with the front speakers being Revel Studio (Gen 1) and universal player  is Cambridge Audio CXUHD. The Denon X8500H and Cambridge Audio CXUHD are powered though a PS Audio Premier Power Plant from my Hi-Fi days. TV is a 55” LG OLED E6. I have also taken the opportunity to change to longer and more flexible Canare 4S11 speakers cable recently.

I have been neglecting my CDs and SACDs for years as they don’t sound nice in an AV setup and I was occupied with other stuff. I used the AV mainly for movies.

Maybe I was trying to test if the Denon X8500H was able to drive the Revel Speakers, I dropped a CD into the CXUHD. Playing through HDMI, it sounded not bad. Wide sound stage, the sound is clean and dynamic. I took out my old Illuminati D60 coaxial SPDIF digital cable to connect it between the CXUHD and Denon X8500H. It seems I like the sound from the CD played through this connection better.

For SACD, it took me a while (bec I did not read the manual) to realize that DSD signal could only output through the HDMI connection. I played a few of the SACD and was rather impressed with the sound I heard. Certain SACD track like 周华健,明天我要嫁给你,the sound images very well with broad soundstage, good holographic almost 3D, it was thrilling just seated between the speakers enjoying the song. I switched to CD for the same song and like the sound from the SACD better. The SACD has more clearly defined details, fast, more punchy and dynamic. Vocal is nicer as well. Perhaps it does not give that deep bass that audiophiles looked for. But there is sufficient bass for one to enjoy the music and songs. In the Hi-Fi world, SACD is mostly enjoyed through analog connections and the equipment don’t come cheap.

For me, it is a bargain to be able to enjoy movies, music, CDs, SACDs and DVD-Audio from these setup. If you already own a Denon X8500H, give it a try for audio (DSD direct or pure audio) in stereo if you have not. I believe Oppo players will work in similar manner as the CXUHD. The manual say sound through Denon Link HD between Denon X8500H and Denon player will sound better bec of lower jitter. But Denon no longer has such players for sale now.

+10 that the x8500h is awesome.

I've switched to the x8500h recently and I have been nothing short of being amazed how good it sounds. Good is an understatement.

The x8500's sq is in a total different league from all the jap avr or processor i heard b4.  Even after personally using flagship models like marantz av8801, sr8012, denon 4520, 7200 with separates. The x8500 is a different beast. And best is, it sounds wonderful even without an external power amp!

I felt it gave a very good fight to dirac live receivers in the same price range. E.g the NAD T777 which I owned for a couple of months. So much so i didnt miss the dirac outcomes.

Seriously, i didnt expect this level of sound from denon. The background sound is very very quiet, and super controlled and balanced. And best is, in familiar scenes, i can pick out much more detailed sounds I've never heard b4. Many reviewers online had this observation too.

The dialogue - so far the best from any audyssey avr or processor. Big notch up. I felt the dialogue was comparable to when i used dirac live (this was one of the reasons i still stuck to dirac before this).

TOTALLY BLOWN AWAY

what surround and speaker layouts are you using and how does the room correction fare?

Setup is 5.2.4 with overheads set as front heights and rear top.

Freq response is pretty similar to what audyssey usually can do. But the room correction outcome in terms of actual Sq is very good.

Wonder in sgd, how much will it cost.....

But then, is the main advantage 8k video support only? Cos there are not much 8k media now anyway

The last time Denon did this was for the AVP-1AHD.

It costs me less than HK$5K in HK and I estimate it to be around SGD$1K.

Whatever it is, your model got upgrade, just be thankful and do it.
