Same region code A and most of the Chinese movies are All codes e.g just got Hkg movie 'Connected' which is under All code and Red Cliff 2 under codes A, B and C.

Guest francis woo Posted May 11, 2009 Posted May 11, 2009 So in HK to buy at those physical shops is cheaper than buying through HK online shops ? I have not try the online shops but I certainly hope so.......... ;D I just bought BD Red Clift 2 for HK$190. Not sure how much the online shops are selling!!
naglfar Posted May 11, 2009 Posted May 11, 2009 I think Mongkok should be able to pls most of the bros here in terms of movie shopping. The last time I was there, I managed to get most of my stuff from Sino Center, and some from HMV, though a bit pricey.
magiclamp Posted May 11, 2009 Author Posted May 11, 2009 Thanks all the input... Will have a look... ;D
stpaul1624705955 Posted May 20, 2009 Posted May 20, 2009 My wife just came from HK she bought X-men trilogy blu ray & Daywatch/nightwatch blu ray. The X-men trilogy only has 7 disc instead of the 9 and It's F*********G more expensive than the price it retails here i'm quite sure that it's not original somemore :-( But what to do my stupid fault of asking wife to buy.
Audio Posted May 20, 2009 Posted May 20, 2009 Go and shop overseas not necessary will be cheaper in Singapore. The buyer who is buying must know pricing and should have done some homework...and even that also can get it wrong sometime. Most important tip is, buy things that cannot get in Singapore. That's why, even if pricing is wrong, at least, can still say cannot get in Singapore. Cantonese says " Fall face flat in the sand pit, also must grab back a fistful of sand". (Audio)
Ng Kheng Leong Posted May 20, 2009 Posted May 20, 2009 HK product English movie are more expensive. HK shld look for HK movies.. they are cheaper there My wife just came from HK she bought X-men trilogy blu ray & Daywatch/nightwatch blu ray. stpaul1624705955 Posted May 21, 2009 Posted May 21, 2009 More expensive is actually only part of the issue what bums me is that the BRs are fake and it was bought in a big shopping center. Anyway just telling bros here.
ALERT1624705860 Posted May 31, 2009 Posted May 31, 2009 Hey Bros, does anyone of you remember the shop names and the building they are located in? Shop Name and location: 1) Win Win Shop at 49 Tung Choi Street, Mongkok
muscular27 Posted June 3, 2009 Posted June 3, 2009 Properity building (nelson street - mongkok) - have 3 Bd shops there. Just jump in and out of these 3 shops and compare prices. Certain titles at certain shop are cheaper than the rest. As bro Audio mentioned, if go HK, buy those titles you can't get here such as certain Criterion's In the Realm of Senses.. ;D And you need to know roughly how much it cost online and locally before you decide to buy or not. HK's English and Chinese titles are usually cheaper than US version - for eg., Naked Weapon cost me only abt sgd 27. Adam Sandler's Bedtime stories and Paul Blart- Mall Cop (both HK versions) cost only abt sgd 38 each. But somehow their chinese artistes concerts BDs are not exactly cheap..some costing more than local. Another good place for BD is Rock Gallery at Tau Yuen Plaza (tsimsatshui - quite near to wanchai mtr i think). Nice selection of BDs but some are region locked. So you need to know what you are getting.

Guest francis woo Posted June 3, 2009 Posted June 3, 2009 So Bro, you also got the BR copy hah!!. Must be exciting watching this in big screen.... ;D
muscular27 Posted June 3, 2009 Posted June 3, 2009 Hehe... this is my first time watching it and when the first "poon pi-pi" scene comes on, I was "pleasantly" surprised. ;D ;D The color is very natural (esp the fleshtone) and the kimonos (varied colors) are a delight to watch. Anyway, the scene with the hardboiled egg has been forever etched in my mind. :P
Audio Posted June 3, 2009 Posted June 3, 2009 Don't let go too much la..... I have not seen it..... (Audio)
muscular27 Posted June 3, 2009 Posted June 3, 2009 Don't let go too much la..... I have not seen it..... (Audio) Bro, don't worry la. There are many many more "different" scenes (every 5-10 mins) esp the ending..
