Got this yesterday and now enjoying all the 40 BR movies in the 1 THDD, most of which I have in the form of BR disks. Excellent PQ and SQ, IMHO, a steal for those who venturing into BR. You won't regret getting this............ :)

nurtqn Posted January 23, 2010 Posted January 23, 2010 You can try this website..http://www.amoimedia.com/en/index.asp Well, bought it last month for $280 and thought of selling it off. :( Reasons: 1) no forum support on their website. 2) no longer provide PPS streaming (blocked since 18 Dec 2009). And no other streaming media support except for pps only. 3) No firmware upgrade since day 1 of purchase. 4) Always freeze during initial playback. Had to switch on/off to play it back. 5) Video format support so far, OKlah. ( Video format that I've tried: AVI, MKV, FLV, MOV, WMV, RM) Waiting eagerly to buy this new media player due to release in March 2010 (hopefully during IT show....) ...http://popboxforum.com/home/

Bernie7 Posted January 24, 2010 Posted January 24, 2010 Francis how does it sound with audio flacs into ext DAC? Respectable, wow?
Guest omshks Posted January 24, 2010 Posted January 24, 2010 Dear All, I bought the amoi v6 last week. While i am also enjoying the HD movies on the hard disk i bouoght from them, I cant help but notice that the machine cannot decode DTS HD and Dolby TrueHD signals even though the some of the movies on the hard disk is encoded with them. To do a test I brought everything to my friend's place. He has a popcorn hour a110 an I tested the movies on his; no problem for his yamaha amp to display that and play out DTS HD and True HD signals. But when i hook up my amoi to his setup, i am only getting DS and Dolby digital sound quality. Anyone has similar experience? I have since called up the person at SLS (his name is Arthur) and he has asked me to go down to his shop tomorrow. Comments pls?
Guest francis woo Posted January 24, 2010 Posted January 24, 2010 Francis how does it sound with audio flacs into ext DAC? Respectable, wow? I have not explore that possibility yet. It's plugged to the AVR and the sound is similar to what I am hearing straight from BR discs.
