Sorry to disappoint you but there are 12 Depeche Mode SACDs released so far. :)

I hate you... Haha. I have A Broken Frame, Speak & Spell, Some Great Reward, Construction Time Again, Songs of Faith and Devotion, Music for the Masses, Violator, Exciter, Ultra. I know I missed out on Black Celebration but whats the other 2? Playing the Angel? Or God forbid 101?

Clap! Clap! Correct. What a true Depeche Mode fan you are, you only wish you had SACD playback capability earlier.

Sigh... 101 would have been good to have but I always felt it doesn't feel like a proper LIVE cd in that the music arrangement sounds almost exactly like the studio efforts with the applause slapped on. So no disappointment with that. Playing the Angel, can only register Precious as the only song still played nowadays.  The one disappointment is definitely Black Celebration... Sigh... A Question of Time & Lust and STRIPPED.

Back on the 93, when I select audio output for SACD to DSD, on my TV display it still says PCM. Why is this?

PS I think I know the answer. Depeche Mode Sacd don't have DSD. Rite

No. They have DSD.

Maybe it's cos the AVR is also sending audio to the Telly.

Was at Audio Iconic just now.  Played a Faye Wong SACD and It shows DSD on their screen. Came back try out and my Telly still says PCM even though in audio setup I select DSD. So as long as I set to DSD it is DSD even though it says PCM?  Frankly I think my Yamaha speakers (don't laugh) are not state of the art and Wen I switch from PCM to DSD around I dun hear any diff haha.

DH, you may be right.  My TV is like 5 odd years ago so way off the present technology. Perhaps that's the reason it says PCM?

Must be the setup.  Oppo is one of the few players you can hear 24/96 with HDMI. Not even Denon DVD-A1UD, need to do Denonlink to get DSD.

local CD supplied with the 93 fixes the unit for region free DVD yes... not personally tried any other regions yet...but thats what its for.

thanks bro, just wondering with the Oppo BDP-93 capability to playback media file via eSATA will this player 'be all, end all' single device solution for HT/Audio? will this one 'kill' the establish media player in the market like DuneHD etc..

IIRC Oppo isnt really going on this path. But it's really a nice add-on to include it.

NMT or media playback is another domain requiring considerable support and development.

at the moment, wat Oppo is doing, IMHO, is keeping in "fashion" like other BD/DVD players, game consoles.....

The Oppo is a versatile player for BD and 3D but let's not go overboard.

It can't even recognize my network shares (only uPNP) and in terms of format support, it's a step up from the 83 especially with support for NTFS drives, but no where as comprehensive as what a good network media player can do.

I need help. Today when I pop in a Blu-ray disc, every scene of any movie I can see the faint logo of OPPO. It's scenes that has a lot of white light, u can see the faint OPPO in green. It's very annoying. This prob suddenly pop up today only.

When i play dvd from another player, the oppo logo still appears  Anyone encountered this and know what to do?

Tried changing hdmi cable and also switch it to another input like Game, DVD etc for Denon 3311 but still persists

PS an update from the above posting abt 1 hr later. Prob is solved... I didn't do anything. That's weird.

From what you are describing, it seems like it's your display.. maybe the Oppo logo was "burnt" into the screen. Are you using a plasma display? And the logo was showing for too long? I recall Oppo has a screen saver mode. Maybe worthwhile enabling it if you disabled it by mistake.

Am in the process of packing so have had to make some compromises in my stereo/HT system.

I moved the CD2/DAC3.5/Pre3 out of the rack and replaced them with an Oppo 93 (HDMI 2 to Denon 4810, HDMI1 to projector) and a Denon 4810 (RCA out to Bel Canto REF1000Ms to Thiel 3.7).

Am quite surprised that the Oppo93 HDMI isn't too bad even in stereo mode. I played a couple of CDs last night and amazed at how textured and layered the sound was. WOW.

Tks for replying. Mine is a LCD tv. Yup it's the OPPO logo burnt onto the screen. Will check up on the screensaver thing. Tks

Never realized LCD had a burn in possibility??

Exactly, it shouldn't be an issue at all in LCDs.  If somehow the crystals really gets 'stuck' in some way, I for one will really have to laugh (not at you, westendboy) at all the LCD fanboys who were always soooooo negative about plasmas over the burn-in issue.

O I see... Come to think of it, I was playing music for a long period and left the display on. Hence the OPPO logo got burnt onto my screen. Learned st new each day. Like u said I Thot this is a prob for plasma. Tks bros

There is a audio video sync issue with some of them, with the audio ahead of video by at least 100 milliseconds.

For all users who are having issues with Audio and Video Synchronization errors, please send an E-Mail to service@oppodigital.com and request 35-0106 Test Firmware.

Today I tried playing flac music files thru the USB port via my portable HDD.  Listening to Till Bronner's Human (a re-working of The Killers' song)... I have goosebumps rising.  The Music is sublime. Now I have a new listening option :o
