vajrasattvasg Posted March 24, 2011 Posted March 24, 2011 300b black treasure is nice sound. buy from factory direct is cheaper and good too. the background is quieter. i have a pair of 300b-98 shuguang new lying around too.. these are cheap and good. they tend to be a little warmer/fuzzier, with thicker mids in my setup as compared to svet 300bs which was a little too balanced/polite sounding. if you want to borrow and try out the 300b-98 i can lend you. no obligations as they are spare/stock tubes that came with my amp and i've been leaving them lying around for a couple of years already. *edit i also have a pair of 300b/n tj fullmusic meshplates as well, they are commonly rebranded as sophia electric etc.

weibchen Posted March 24, 2011 Posted March 24, 2011 nope factory MOQ is about 300 pieces for distro price..want more discount then its all about quantity 500 and above.. you buy 1 they'll sell you MSRP anything lesser they won't entertain you, if you're gum with a wholesaler/reseller you can get better price but of course you need to do frequent purchasing for 熟客(old customer) price ordered straight from the factory - but then again I order 10 pairs one shot each time, plus add on other orders.. $220 SGD 1100RMB Matched Quads 6CA7 Treasure Tibetan series where to find? hehe Even direct from factory the premium tubes sometimes also got some that are defective. So it's better to buy from a reputable tube seller than the factory itself, at least they have after service for the same price and more accessible. Even if use 快速（kuai su) up and down take 3-4 days, might as well get straight from shenzhen or guangzhou. So In a way you are right, I CAN sell cheaper than factory.. but mostly I just help my regular customer buy to roll for their amps.

So it's better to buy from a reputable tube seller than the factory itself, at least they have after service for the same price and more accessible. oh well. if that's your observation and opinion then leave it as that :) i'll stick to my way of getting a pair of tubes for myself below MSRP from factory direct :) just that i've left china already and almost emptied my 工行 and 农行 accounts, so now if i order tubes, have to pay remittance fee. premium tubes seldom defective, specify the transconductance or plate current that you desire and they will test and certify before sending to you. and if there's a problem with a tube, you can give a call and return to them to have one more dispatched to you. reputed tube sellers, not necessarily really "reputed" with QC most of the time anyway, just a bunch of middleman resellers. just like i bought a tube from a certain reputed nos tube "dealer" before, twin triode.. internally mis-matched!! :P

Shuguang normal jelly bean local(china) tubes can be cheap but it's a heaven and hell difference with premium tubes like treasures and psvanes. I rolled a normal one for fun, 5 mins of listening I changed back to Psvanes..
