Boxerfan88 Posted February 25, 2016 Posted February 25, 2016 What speaker cables are you using. I am currently in the same combo, still sourcing for cables to match. Disclaimer: I am not a believer in high cost cables. I bought a roll of AWG 14 copper cable from Korea. No brand. For about $100. And some nakamichi gold plated banana plugs from China. I then DIY 4 pairs to bi-amp from Yamaha 3030 to the Mini2 speakers. After I got my Job225, converted the 4 pairs cable to bi-wire from amp to the Mini2's. This is my current setup. Guest CASH Posted March 25, 2016 Posted March 25, 2016 all righty, the 2 bro's have left my place. hope the usher speakers, have left an impression for them. happy easter everyone! ;)
benlzy Posted March 25, 2016 Posted March 25, 2016 Thank you Cash bro for having us over! The Usher Dancer Mini-X certainly left a very deep impression.. Intimate mids, sweet treble and a very very wide soundstage along both the vertical and lateral plane. Astounding! It was very enjoyable to listen to and as I'm typing this, I'm sitting at home listening to my v3m, and they sound sharp in comparison xD. To my ears the mini-X sounds amazing already, and they aren't even burnt in yet!
Joe-siow Posted March 25, 2016 Posted March 25, 2016 Many thanks to Bro CASH for hosting Ben and myself. Went without much expectations since I didn't know to expect, but I left with a huge grin on my face. As mentioned by Ben, the Mini Dancer X is simply a pair of outstanding speakers for its asking price. For the genres I listen to, I personally prefer MDX over MD2, as the mids is fuller and slightly more forward. Bass quality is very good, though it can probably do with slightly more quantity. Mids is beautifully voiced and natural sounding. I expected the treble to be bright due to the diamond tweeter, but it is instead smooth and slightly sweet. Very good soundstage performance, both in depth and width, with very good details presentation without sounding clinical.
fei Posted March 25, 2016 Posted March 25, 2016 Hi Cash. keen to get your opinion of the Usher's sound in comparison to your previous Monitor Audio GX experience? Thanks in advance
Guest CASH Posted March 25, 2016 Posted March 25, 2016 thks, bro's Joe-siow n benlzy... i jus got back home from work. been a long day. glad, both of u, like the usher sound signature. with the pairing of the Audio-Technica speaker cable ( AT-SS2300 ) that i bought in japan recently, it is singing wonderfully. if anyone wants to drop by to have a listen, jus whatsapp or sms me. cheers! ;) :D
Guest CASH Posted March 25, 2016 Posted March 25, 2016 Hi Cash. keen to get your opinion of the Usher's sound in comparison to your previous Monitor Audio GX experience? Thanks in advance hi bro, well to put it in a nutshell, the ushers sweep the monitor audio's away in a cool and easy breeze. lots of equipment changes i have done within these few years. i jus hope these will change from today onwards. hope i don't get poisoned soon enough to move ship again. the monitor GX series r nice n delicate... but the ushers are begging n able to beat speakers that cost 5 figures. the GX at most, can match most speakers in the mid 4 figure range. thats my take in comparing these 2 brands. the Duevel Bella Luna that i still have at home are up there in the 5 figure range for matching, but its a different beast all together. ( Omni directional, that is )
ohlins Posted March 26, 2016 Posted March 26, 2016 I used to have 8571 ...... So very familiar with usher package of quality and VFM ....
fei Posted March 26, 2016 Posted March 26, 2016 Thanks for the feedback Cash... Hope to drop by one day for a listen :) U seriously change equipment faster than change underwear ;D
Guest CASH Posted March 26, 2016 Posted March 26, 2016 Hehehehe!!! U must see my dining room.... All my leftover items are stocked there sitting idle.. Hehehe!! Yup, its a dirty habit I have.. Before even selling items, I buy more! But no choice as once the sales item is snapped by another buyer, it might not surface anymore. So I rather buy 1st n worry later. ;D
kimurastanley Posted March 26, 2016 Posted March 26, 2016 Mini X looks nice. Just called X audio for quote for mini X and mini 1 Bro cash, any more session for audition? :)
kimurastanley Posted March 26, 2016 Posted March 26, 2016 u can come over now. i am home. Today I am working. May be tmr. Will text your mobile number. Thanks bro
Guest CASH Posted March 26, 2016 Posted March 26, 2016 i really must thank, bro "Joagib", for single handedly introducing me into the world of "USHER". here's a Salute to you bro! cheers n stay healthy n happy as always bro. :D
Guest CASH Posted March 27, 2016 Posted March 27, 2016 the bro has left my place... tried the A/B test with his MF Amp.. tried the Ushers n M.A GX50 too... i will leave it to him to put in a review of how it feels. as always i jus provide the home setting n gears to compare. i dont wanna say what is nice or wat is not... thats not my principle for open house sessions. hehehehehe!!! :D this for coming down bro. cheers n enjoy!!
bluetang927 Posted March 27, 2016 Posted March 27, 2016 Hi Bro, How does the mini x compare to the floorstanders beside it ie. Diamond vs Beryllium? I have the mini x since X audio bought them in . But only listening to it more often after I sold my another pair of speakers.
Guest CASH Posted March 27, 2016 Posted March 27, 2016 both of them are the DMD versions bro. of course the mini dancer 2 has a wider open stage kinda sound. the mini x has the sound stage too, but not as open as the floor stander. all in all, i am happy with both their performance. my ht is run separate ( independent ), and my stereo is run separate too ( independent ).
