The year 2012 is coming to an end.

Vote for the best movie of this year.

I only stated these 10 based on rating, popularity and had shown in cinemas locally.

I never input the others like Lincoln, The Master, Cloud Atlas, Silver Linings Playbook, etc because it has not yet show in local cinema.

Let's see which film is the most popular in here.

Isn't this too early?  Still got The Hobbits you know  ;)

Anyway, these are my faves so far this year but I have not chosen my top 10  :)

My 2012 favourite movies - The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo, 大魔术师, A Separation, A Simple Life, The Lady,  The Last Circus, Sleeping Beauty, 大追捕,  The Cabin in the Woods, The Avengers, Shame, Love in the Buff, War of the Arrows, Martha Marcy May Marlene, The Raid,  Bernie, The Dark Knight Rises, Headhunters, Hysteria, Marley, Wolf Children, Ted, Vulgaria,  Dredd, Jiro Dreams of Sushi, Looper, The Perks of Being a Wallflower, End of Watch, Skyfall, The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel, Monsieur Lazhar, Intouchables, Argo, 寒战, Life of Pi, Undefeated,

Biggest disappointment is Prometheus but the deleted scenes have been good in making me appreciate the film.

The worst film is A Dangerous Method.  It stars Michael Fasssbender, Keira Knightley, Viggo Mortensen and Vicent Cassell. And directed by David Cronenberg some more. I know... how can it be so bad rite?  I think my hair nearly turned all white in the cinema. I was too daft to understand it

Haven't been to the cinema much this year - but Cabin In The Woods, Dark Knight Rises and Jiro Dreams of Sushi for me. WEB, A Separation was released in 2011, right?

Has anyone seen This Is Not a Film?

The worst film is A Dangerous Method.

I miss out exotic hotel and serparation. gotta find a chance to watch these 2.

dangerous method is from 2011, but it shows very late here.

i watched this on flight when I'm travelling to LA earlier this year and yes i agree this is a terrible movie, but not the worst.

the worst from this year in local cinema is The Tree of Life.

The most awful film i had watched in years, i really don't understand why this movie can nominate for Oscar Best Picture and winner of Cannes Palm D'or GOSH!!!

Yes, it was last year's movie but only shown locally this year. Never heard of This is Not a Film... not very original movie title leh. It's sounds borrowed from piL's This is Not a Love Song :)

Tree of Life was this year?  Oh man... I thought that was last year. I have a funny feeling if I had seen it again I may understand it better. But I doubt I ever will.

Premium Rush

Dodging speeding cars, crazed cabbies, open doors, and eight million cranky pedestrians is all in a day's work for Wilee (Joseph Gordon-Levitt), the best of New York's agile and aggressive bicycle messengers. It takes a special breed to ride the fixie - super lightweight, single-gear bikes with no brakes and riders who are equal part skilled cyclists and suicidal nutcases who risk becoming a smear on the pavement every time they head into traffic. But a guy who's used to putting his life on the line is about to get more than even he is used to when a routine delivery turns into a life or death chase through the streets of Manhattan. When Wilee picks up his last envelope of the day...Rotten Tomatoes

If its by a measure of how much of an emotional impact a movie has had on you personally, then by a mile for me its the Martin Scorsese directed late 2011 documentary; George Harrison: Living In The Material World.… (I know, not quite a movie ;D... but what a beautiful soul…)

I just finished watching Dark Knight Rises again... on Blu now. Oh man... tears still welled up in me and missus' eyes. Still so so good. This second time actually turned out to be an even better experience. Even though there are no surprises, I could now concentrate on everything else - the brilliant writing, the awesome performances, the cinematography and the assurred direction. I must say this time in the comfort of my own HT, Bane's dialogue was no longer lost on me. It's crystal clear and mixed with such menacing bass. This time I also appreciated Alfred's arc... The final coda with Alfred at the cafe brought tears to my eyes. That's the ending for me.

There's so many things to love in Dark Knight Rises... and what an ending to a trilogy done by someone who respects the mythology. Nolan even brought back elements from all the first 2 films and done such a brilliant,  emphatic, powerful ending.

I have chosen my best movie for 2012  ;). It's pretty obvious... I do love the Avengers too but I prefer dark stuff anytime  8)

I just finished watching Dark Knight Rises again...

I watched the 2nd time at IMAX Miramar Taipei couple of months ago and the i love that film more than i watched the 1st time.

Maybe because the IMAX hall is even more cooler and bigger than ours.

Chris Nolan will be best film writer/director of this generation, great performance by Tom Hardy, Michael Caine, Gary Oldman, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Matthew Modine and forget to mention Hans Zimmer's wonderful score.

listen to the OST over and over again.

I'll rank Zimmer 2nd best of all times after John Williams

I like stupid slapstick comedies so best comedy this year goes to The Dicktator  ;D

Strike that! I watched TED today and it should be comedy of the year!
