PL Posted February 29, 2020 Posted February 29, 2020 Thanks again Peng for the demo of the KK D300 sub last night. Single 12” driver, sealed design, downward firing but the magnet is outside the sub. Felt the rumble and mid bass punch despite rated at just 300 watts, in stack formation, one word, WOW. I am trading in my single DXD12012 for stack D300. :)

villez Posted March 8, 2020 Posted March 8, 2020 Got my eye set on buying PB2000 pro until I heard DXD 300. It changes my mind now. DXD 300 has a small foot print which suits small rooms. It’s profile is short enough to be placed under a low screen. It has a refined finishing, not a typical laminate which will peel over time. It sits quietly in the room without attracting much attention to it. It may even “disappear” into ur room. No reason for wife to disapprove aesthetic wise. It doesn’t make use of raw power to prove itself. The low end sound blends neatly with the speakers (crossover of 200hz?). It gives the overall sound effect more weight. Remember what I said about the subwoofer may “disappear” into ur room? Well, so does the sound effect. I don’t even notice the subwoofer effect until it’s turned off, everything sounded thin and plain. With the rest of the kk subwoofers turned on (both stacked DXD300 and DXD500), it sounded so cinematic! The kind of rumble on the sofa gives a gentle yet impactful feel to what’s shown on screen. Don’t think even cinema low end effects provide such impact. Thank u Peng for the hospitality and willingness to share ur knowledge, even with house renovation!
skate Posted March 9, 2020 Posted March 9, 2020 Today I have the chance to listen to peng newly brought in kk dxd 300 sub. Immediately for the first 10s from the movie edge of tomorrow, I can hear more rumble from this single 12 inch driver. This is just 1 unit. Up next peng switch to 2 stacked units and played the same clip. The effect immediately is more dramatic and dynamic. After that we listened to some music and watch more movie clips like true legend and flashpoint. I like to say with the power from the audio control avr using dirac live driving the speakers and subs, the sound from the speakers are seamlessly blend with the subs. It is very natural and I really like it. Without the sub, the sound is thin. With the kk subs on, the sound is more dynamic and lively. Plus peng is just using cheap normal rca cable to connect to his sub, the bass is already very good. Really need to thanks peng for his effort explaining to me about his products like the audio control avr, kk sub and his pitch black theatre room. Really total darkness. Looking forward for your upcoming setup. Will drop by again once you are done.
etnt Posted March 10, 2020 Posted March 10, 2020 for me, KK is addictive. what's after KK, is KK again.
Chewkh77gmail.com Posted March 12, 2020 Posted March 12, 2020 Finally went to Peng place today to listen to the new KK DXD500 after hearing so many positive and raving review on the new sub. As a newbie to HT and do not know much abt HT , Peng was very patient and knowledge. He explained and ans all the qns that I throw at him. I was treated with some movies demo and music clips. I was very impressed by the mid bass and the lows and it sounds musical from a single sub. Next Peng switch to 2 stacks sub and play the same clips for me. I was left speechless. I thank Peng for his hospitality. I went home, sold my current sub to my friend and order a DXD500. Stack will be later due to budget. Case close :)
Nivlahog Posted March 17, 2020 Posted March 17, 2020 Brought my first KK DXD 500 Studio from Peng today. I have went through a 2.5 hrs of demo testing from 10hz (Edge of tomorrow) to 60hz (True Legend) with both kk model. As usual Peng explained through the demo about how the new KK are been designed and we are discussing how KK produce sub effect by compressing the energy within both driver. As for music, dont need to further elaborate, smooth sound with excellent mid bass and additional low freq is what you will get. After the demo, decided to trade in both my Stark SW12 for the 500 and I will be pairing the KK to my FV18HP. Standard design, KK will focus 30hz and above where FV18HP will concentrate 30hz and below. Overall conclusion, IMO this model produce a great amount energy within the room and at the same time I do not felt over pressurized when the volume increase. Will be exploring for another one to stack up once both of my sub tuning settle down. ;D
ralfale Posted March 17, 2020 Posted March 17, 2020 KK is no doubt the undisputed king of mid bass :D

chaozhoi Posted June 1, 2020 Posted June 1, 2020 Hi, anyone tried to get their KK sub repaired by anyone else other than Peng?
econav Posted June 28, 2020 Posted June 28, 2020 Same thing happened when my set was under warranty. I trusted and didnt probe further (my faulty perhaps for not wanting to be a troublesome customer). So I was kinda using a KK sub that i could not play loud because I can hear rattling noise inside which I was told it's normal for a few years. But it's too late now to regret since there's no more warranty already. I do trust that he has the skills to repair it for me and get it to work properly since I will be paying for it now. But I might have a nice working set without paying if he had honestly repaired for me previously. I think you are unfair for making that statement , you bought a used from one of my customer and your set was also send down to adelphi for check and we check on the spot and you came and tested and collected it back and that was way back to 2015. last Sep you contact me by what apps and indicated this issue and i hv make clear indication what may be the issue and quoted you $400+7% if hv to replace the whole amp , buy No action from your side .... all text was recorded on my device way back to 2011 . Pls , make it fair . beco My name or related operation by your words is in Question now .

During the test back then u told me the rattling is normal because the sub is bottoming out. I brought it back and lived with the rattling believing that that's the case and used the sub with very very minimal volume to prevent the rattle as I am using it with my other SVS sub (which u told me is normal). I shifted house 2 years back and have been trying do up my sound properly. That's when I decided to text u again to check again but got a different reply this time that repair is required instead of the previous 'it's normal'. Anyway not here to spoil ur reputation or what, I only wanted to get my sub in proper working condition (perhaps I am the only KK owner in the world who has the sub but doesn't know what it's capable of) and looking for alternative until someone started asking me why Sent from my ONEPLUS A5000 using Tapatalk

econav Posted June 28, 2020 Posted June 28, 2020 Yup. Same problem, one was because I turn on too loud and normal, the other one requires repair Sent from my ONEPLUS A5000 using Tapatalk We did the repair way back to 2015 , and we go thru a full day test and replaced parts without charge and after that you nvr report any but till last Sep ... 4 yr thing can fail and you .....
econav Posted June 28, 2020 Posted June 28, 2020 U told me u couldn't find any problem and tightened something up only. Didn't change anything Sent from my ONEPLUS A5000 using Tapatalk pls chk all the text record and in your record you say also posted in XP . 4 yet ago if we do not charge a service and after 4 yr need to replace the whole board and return the failed one for $400 is not reasonable ? All customer send in their set and check on the spot we nvr charge , even thru after inspect if the cost is too high , we will let the customer decide to repair or not or just sell at a parts ( if we think is not worth for pj /sub).
