cstanxpl Posted May 8, 2016 Posted May 8, 2016 :o :-[ ::) :( >:( I asked to speak to the supervisor or manager to confirm this policy so that I no need to ask again. I encountered this before but was told by another CSO that they still do price match. 06:26 PM PDT Pamela: In that cases we still do that, what happened here it's that my co-worker got confused I'm sorry I'm going to bring this information to my manager
silencer13 Posted May 8, 2016 Posted May 8, 2016 It's always a matter of luck when you speak with Amazon CS. Sometimes you get a good one, sometimes totally crappy one. At least you got what you wanted in the end.

Which was why I ask to speak to the supervisor or manager to confirm so that I no need to ask again.
benlzy Posted May 9, 2016 Posted May 9, 2016 That's quite a rude way to ask for help.. it doesn't matter what tone I imagine, the words themselves speak a lot. Least you could do was show some manners, not undermining the other person's position and showing some respect.

But anyway, thanks for your reminder too. I shall reflect on this.
BozQ Posted May 16, 2016 Posted May 16, 2016 It seems like Amazon these days reserve quite a number of Blu-rays exclusively for Prime Members. Luckily I pre-ordered my Star Wars: The Force Awakens Blu-ray early and managed to get a copy. My friends, however, waited for release before they tried to order, but now they're stuck waiting for it to be available for non-members. And now the price has gone up to US$25. I suggested they try getting it from Amazon UK instead. The overall cost to order and ship from there is cheaper than US now. Also, not every Blu-ray now has free shipping from Amazon. My friend just tried to order Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and surprisingly, there's no free shipping available for this. Likewise, I tried to add Tropic Thunder into the cart and no free shipping too. Amazon.com doesn't look that attractive to make huge orders now, if they continue like this.
tiktokape Posted May 17, 2016 Posted May 17, 2016 This is what Amazon Prime is about, get incentivised for being one. What's the point of being one IF non prime members are paying less/equal? Yes, I'm one of them and I enjoy the privilege of it. However if you look further enough, you get fairly good deals in eBay and other avenues as well. If you requires USA shipping address, just use EZBuy, 500g for s$3.90, hard to beat if you order in bulk, you will get decent savings without ordering in bulk to fulfill usd125. Although I do agree that the difference may not be substantial for one title, however by adding up all under 'prime' vs normal in bulk, perhaps you may be able to get another title? I'll check out ezBuy
BozQ Posted May 17, 2016 Posted May 17, 2016 Oh no. It seems like a lot of the Blu-rays are no longer eligible for free shipping. Is it the same with you guys? EDIT: It looks like Pre-Orders are no longer qualified for free shipping.
Musicalitea Posted May 17, 2016 Posted May 17, 2016 Oh no. It seems like a lot of the Blu-rays are no longer eligible for free shipping. Is it the same with you guys? EDIT: It looks like Pre-Orders are no longer qualified for free shipping. I recently ordered CD's and DVD's (ships from and sold by Amazon.com) and there was no option to check Free Global Shipping despite meeting the criteria. I sent them an email with the details in the shopping basket, and received a reply stating that it ought to be free shipping, asked me to place the order quoting the reference # and will revise the prices down by removing the shipping charges. Hope this helps and good luck.

I just saw it in JB Hifi for A$29.90. US$25 is A$35.00
tbln Posted May 18, 2016 Posted May 18, 2016 Oh no. It seems like a lot of the Blu-rays are no longer eligible for free shipping. Is it the same with you guys? EDIT: It looks like Pre-Orders are no longer qualified for free shipping. You might be correct about pre-orders not qualifying got free shipping. Had no free shipping option when i had pre-orders in my cart and had to spend time initiating chats with the CSO to waive the shipping charges. Bummer if it is true!
ootg Posted May 18, 2016 Posted May 18, 2016 The confusing thing is that some pre-orders still qualify for free shipping. I am still wondering what makes some pre-orders eligible for free shipping, and what makes others ineligible? Any ideas?
Audiolab Posted May 18, 2016 Posted May 18, 2016 My previous orders with pre orders have no issue with free shipping. My latest order just place this week had the problem with free shipping. So have to talk to CSO to waive it.
BozQ Posted May 18, 2016 Posted May 18, 2016 No issues with old orders of course. But if this is a new condition by Amazon to qualify for free shipping, then I think it's time to experiment with ezBuy.
BozQ Posted May 18, 2016 Posted May 18, 2016 I emailed them and this is their response. "I've checked the details of your order and I see that as the item is pre-order it wasn't combined with your order which qualified for free shipping." It does sound like pre-orders are no longer qualified for free shipping. I sent a reply to clarify further.
DIRTRUN Posted May 18, 2016 Posted May 18, 2016 My experience wif AMZ CSO is tat eventually, theyll stop honoring wat we ask for if their policy is different.. I mean they wont be going against their own policy about tis 'free shipping' tingy albeit we still consider it a 'grey' area.. D
BozQ Posted May 18, 2016 Posted May 18, 2016 This is the response I got from Amazon. "Hello, I'm sure it's disappointing to know that Pre-order Free Shipping eligibility has been removed due to some technical issues. I completely understand your disappointment. That's definitely not what we want our customers to experience. I really don't want to you see in more trouble and would like to make things simple for you. However, I've passed your comments along to the appropriate people in our company, as I know they'll want to read about your experience, so that they will try to add the Pre-order Free Shipping eligibility price in the future again."
BozQ Posted May 18, 2016 Posted May 18, 2016 Technical issues? Really? Honestly, I don't mind them changing their policy of no free shipping for pre-orders. But I'd prefer if they were up front and transparent about it.

BozQ Posted May 28, 2016 Posted May 28, 2016 Sounds like Amazon made a couple of policy changes without really informing their customers or even their CSOs. This price matching is one. Free domestic shipping increased from $35 to $49. The increasing number of products stuck behind Prime membership. And free international shipping no longer include pre-orders. This whole "technical glitch" is utter nonsense. I'd prefer if they just honestly tell me it's a policy change. Oh well, looks like I have to change my shopping habits. I'm waiting for some June releases to try the ezBuy method of shipping.
BozQ Posted June 4, 2016 Posted June 4, 2016 Some observations I made. It seems like as release date gets closer, the free shipping is available. The policy is very inconsistent and it's making it very frustrating to make any orders.
BozQ Posted August 27, 2016 Posted August 27, 2016 Anyone of you guys had experience with Aramex courier? Amazon tracking tells me that delivery attempted, and look out for delivery slip. But I see nothing at my door to rearrange delivery.
cstanxpl Posted August 27, 2016 Posted August 27, 2016 I encountered once before. They said made an attempt when I called and asked, but my IPCam recording on my front doors shows no one showed up. When I told them about my IPCam recordings, they changed the story to the guy went to the wrong unit.

Did they re-deliver on their own? Or did you call them up to ask?
