dsj88 Posted July 1, 2014 Posted July 1, 2014 I got a new mobile phone which runs on android 4.4.2 and the pistons sounds like crap. No detail and soft like hell. The weird part is that when I press and hold the control button in the middle of the piston it springs back to life like what it was on my old mobile. But I can't keep holding the button all the time. What is happening? I can't use back my old mobile because it has a cracked screen. Any bros that can help? Thanks :'(
alamakazam Posted July 1, 2014 Posted July 1, 2014 the mic control maybe shorted the ground together plug in plug out few time, maybe some deoxit
francis wu Posted July 1, 2014 Posted July 1, 2014 Yes, sometimes it is the jack that did not make contact properly. Pull and push it until you hear the correct sound output! :)
dsj88 Posted July 1, 2014 Posted July 1, 2014 Tried alamakazam and Francis suggestions still no good. Sound muffled lots of crackling and barely any sound although at full volume. But when use the mobile phone's earphone it is ok.So have to improvise and used a duct tape over the microphone. All is good. Alsmakazam is right. The microphone must be shorting it
dsj88 Posted July 3, 2014 Posted July 3, 2014 Anyone buying can I tompang one. Will collect end August when I visit. Will pay first so you know it is genuine. Thanks and pm me.
jerms Posted July 30, 2014 Posted July 30, 2014 Haha, yes we need to do justice to this amazing IEM. When listening to my hi-resh file on my XPLAY 3S, it's the smallest tip, on movies, the biggest tip for kickass bass period. omg the bass details... this rewrites the rules for price/perfomance
naglfar Posted July 30, 2014 Posted July 30, 2014 I just got me and my missus one each. Finally. For $20, this thing is very impressive.
westendboy Posted July 30, 2014 Posted July 30, 2014 I think we have been farked by the companies making expensive earphones all these years! >:(
wongcp21 Posted July 30, 2014 Posted July 30, 2014 Very impressive, especially given the price. Changed eartips for better isolation.
naglfar Posted July 30, 2014 Posted July 30, 2014 I think we have been farked by the companies making expensive earphones all these years! >:( and I am slowly removing their dicks from my ass
kzone Posted July 30, 2014 Posted July 30, 2014 how long is the run in? I have 1 pair barely used and another unopened cos I find it sounded very far off fm my old Klipsch X10 especially vocals. The X10 sounds so much more natural n real in comparison.
naglfar Posted July 30, 2014 Posted July 30, 2014 I just got mine just now, and off the box, I thought it already sounded pretty great.
jerms Posted July 30, 2014 Posted July 30, 2014 I think we have been farked by the companies making expensive earphones all these years! >:( oh yes. guilty as charged.
Funkyjazz Posted July 30, 2014 Posted July 30, 2014 I have the xiaomi and the Sony MH-1. Sony sound much better, at $21 only. But Xiaomi is louder, Sony need to turn up the volume higher to achieve the same loudness. Sony background is darker.
twlmad Posted July 30, 2014 Posted July 30, 2014 Any good replacement tips to recommend? I find the stock tips don't hv a v good seal. But even then they sound great
whyeme Posted July 30, 2014 Author Posted July 30, 2014 There is something organic about the stock tips. No matter what size, I need to gradually coax them to sit snugly into my ear canals to achieve the proper isolation. Then and only then can I hear what the piston drivers can really do. Sometimes ear canal too dry also cannot fit well. Damn fussy tips.
drzero Posted July 31, 2014 Posted July 31, 2014 The qc of the redmi piston not so good, one week already one side die Ah well, 20 bucks earphone
whyeme Posted July 31, 2014 Author Posted July 31, 2014 Mine more than half year still fine. Put it in my back pocket daily. Sat on them countless times. So far so good :)
wongcp21 Posted July 31, 2014 Posted July 31, 2014 Any good replacement tips to recommend? I find the stock tips don't hv a v good seal. But even then they sound great I used Comply T400 series. Not bad.
twlmad Posted July 31, 2014 Posted July 31, 2014 I used Comply T400 series. Not bad. Thanks, unfortunately foam tips r a bit tedious to insert. Any silicone tips that works well too?
Furface Posted August 1, 2014 Posted August 1, 2014 The qc of the redmi piston not so good, one week already one side die Ah well, 20 bucks earphone I hv opened 3 pcs for coming 6 weeks and all still working fine. Consider very good quality liao for the amount S$20.00. Similar amount like Memorex/TDK also cannot beat! Even my kid's way of usage (almost 3 weeks spoil 1pc) Replace with the XiaoMi Piston till date no problem.
