stevoz Posted July 21, 2024 Posted July 21, 2024 Recently bought a copy of 'Blues License' by Renee Geyer and have been claiming how good the blues are on this. Here's an example with the Kevin Borich Express providing the sublime backing.....Kevin's guitar work is insane, Renee's vocals superb. 5 1

I bought this LP when it came out, a underrated artist if there even was one. I'm not sure if it was her own insecurities or less than Stella management, but she should have been better known than she ended up being. She died last year after complications after hip surgery, I think somebody told me that whilst in hospital, that they found she had inoperable lung cancer. 1

An absolutely under rated tour de force, a bit like another Aussie singer Jeannie Lewis. A lifetime smoker.....hence the husky voice, and like Farnham, it caught up with her.....but those damn hip op complications likely took her earlier than the cancer would have. RIP.
