I don't know, you'd have to ask Volkswagen Group. Personally I would have chosen the 7-speed DCT even if the manual was still available, as I live in the inner city. And that transmission works very well & includes selectable drive modes (Comfort, Sport, Race, Special, Drift, Eco and Individual). Additionally, I'd prefer the DCT for ocassional track days.

Since I have kids, the Yaris was out of the question so I test drove the GR Corolla on the weekend. What a fun car. 100 horsepower per cylinder. A torquey, boosty engine that wants to just go go go, like an excited puppy. Smiles per mile off the charts. I want one. I want one bad. Honda Civic Type R is the choice... Beats 'em all..IMO.. 2

Darryl Posted February 26 Posted February 26 I took one of these for a short drive in the hills recently. Bloody fantastic. Not that I've driven any competitors, but I did start thinking about remortgaging the house!!! My brother, who works at a Honda dealership, warns that parts prices are high. Again, I don't know how that compares to competitors.
maximus Posted February 26 Posted February 26 These Renaults are getting the stage treatment, mine's the one on the left. There's so many talented hot hatches these days, they're incredible, all they need is the 3 levels of tweaking and you've got one serious super car in 'hot hatch' guise. treatment 2 1 1

As long as you don’t drive it to death, being Honda, lengthy warranties, it’s all good. 1
RockandorRoll Posted February 27 Posted February 27 Love the Renaults, but if i had my time again id look at the Corolla just from a service and support point of view. Renault Australia are useless. Plus the aftermarket is bigger as a result of global market for the Toyota. 1

RR ... shows it as ugly as schiit, IMO. Is it the EV version? 1

Those wheels look like crap imo, dare say you are right with many of the newer RR's, I have an old 2006 Range Rover, have it it for approx. 7-8 years, not one problem with it what so ever, I just service it every 9k kms. I have taken it places out in the middle of no where too, like Wilcannia, White cliffs, Tilpa, Louth & out the back of Bourke, etc.... just to mention a few, maybe I'm lucky & have a good one, love it... will be keeping it till she's dead. 1
