And to see one in the flesh was a just brilliant.. One of two in the country apparently. It is in very small list of sports cars or "supercars" that has defined the genre IMO.. 2

I think it’s the same car but I saw it at Porschaden in Armadale a little while ago. Very rare indeed. 1 1

There are 4 door sedans in that list. Needed them in there to make 10, and I guess VW (and other makes) do they make (genuine) 2 door hatches today, I don't know?? . What does everyone think was the original hot hatch?? 1

What does everyone think was the original hot hatch?? both, as long as it has a hatch and not a boot. The absolute original hot hatch had 4 doors + hatch - 1973 Simca 1100TI https://www.topgear.com/car-news/classic/history-hot-hatches-ten-cars
Guest niterida Posted July 16, 2021 Posted July 16, 2021 whats the difference between a hatchback and a wagon ? To me a hatchback was a coupe with a very sloping rear hatch - think Torana and Celica/Supra.

The Fez Posted August 17, 2021 Posted August 17, 2021 Automobili Lamborghini The "new" limited release of the legendary Countach. Naturally-aspirated 6.5-litre V12 engine assisted by a compact electric motor. Together the powertrain’s total power output is 788bhp, with 32bhp of that figure coming from the electric motor. Numbers are limited to a little over 100, Price - I've seen anywhere between 4-6 million $USD? This is a gutsy move to even attempt to re-create the the iconic original design penned by the genius Marcello Gandini. But -- I reckon they have pulled it off , it looks amazing and IMO more appealing than the recent past and current fussy bat-like over winged contemporary "hyper car" creations. Hope that paired back aesthetic makes it to production.. 3

Guest niterida Posted August 17, 2021 Posted August 17, 2021 It looks OK but not different enough to the current cars and the glass profile looks almost identical to the old Diablo. Or in other words not "Countachy" enough for me
The Fez Posted August 18, 2021 Posted August 18, 2021 The original prototipo 1971 is in its purist form from the Gandini pen. Of course a number of elements required changing for the first production version, the NACA ducts and high side scoops are the obvious changes. Latest reports indicate that all of the 112 new cars intended to be manufactured have already sold out.. Well of course they have, one hopes that at least one is coming to Australia.. 1

GregWormald Posted August 29, 2021 Posted August 29, 2021 No pics, but a bit of a funny story. I loaded all the foam packing into the car (Porsche Boxster (mid engine)) and took it around to the local recycler. All the guys came out for a gander and helped me dump the foam into the correct bin. Front boot—emptied, rear boot—emptied, passenger seat—emptied. "Nice car, looks great" they said. "I'll bet it's fun to drive." they said. "But where's the engine!" 1
