Yes, I so jealous of those who got the Note 8, darm it, I should have waited for it! ;D ;D

Makes sense, I hear old folks do tend to prefer a slower pace of life...  :)

Apple’s Face ID on iPhone X opens up a whole new wave of security capability!!

(Copy-cats expected soon! ;D)

https://www.phonearena.com/news/iPhone-X-and-iOS-11-bring-a-welcome-change-to-iOS-lockscreen-notifications_id98825

The Apple iPhone X will only show lockscreen notifications with actual content when it knows you are the one who is watching and if it's somebody else, they will only see the notification source, but not the notification content itself (which might be sensitive).

Yeah, Steve would most definitely be spinning in his grave, if this were true… That said, (like the rest of SPH) Hardwarezone’s news is usually 4th or 5th hand news.

In this case, the origin of that report is from a “Patently Apple” news piece from August; http://www.patentlyapple.com/patently-apple/2017/08/two-more-apple-patent-filings-point-to-apple-pencil-eventually-working-with-a-future-iphone.html

If you read the patent, and it’s coverage, it’s clear the intent is not for Apple to include a plug-in stylus with the iPhone (à la stupid Samsung), but to enable the Apple Pencil to work on multiple Apple platforms, including the iPhone, for specialised applications.

4th hand news is good. Because they have magazine too they have to be sure there are no half-truth. No prata-ing unlike some others.

We shall see soon enough how bogus Hardwarezone's speculative news is :)

Anyone pre-ordered the X yet? I did the singtel one weeks ago but no advice yet on the next steps yet.

Singtel sent notices to their Prestige customers that ordering begins at 9AM on 31st Oct, a day ahead of the rest of their customers. So, if you're not a Prestige customer, then ordering should be 1st Nov @ 9AM. You'll need the email they sent to confirm your pre-interest, it's got your personal URL that cues you up correctly. If you've lost it, get it resent via singtel.com/iphone-roi

StarHub really stepped up their game this year with the Virtual Queue. i managed to book the model that I wanted within 6mins and am expecting it to be delivered to my home this week Saturday. after so many years of frustration with their online booking system, this is certainly a welcome change!

Singtel was 3 f'n steps, but fortunately they seem to have scaled their systems well enough this time. Getting mine on Friday! :D (My only worry is whether RSA has updated their SecureID App for Face ID instead of Touch ID... If yes, it eliminates one additional touch step for me everyday ;D ... Guess I'll know on Friday)

I will get this 6 months later. My iPhone 7+ not even 1 year old.

Meanwhile I hooted a Nokia 3310 for the old folks. Must be very popular in Singapore. Most shops got no stock one. :(
