hb Posted September 25, 2017 Posted September 25, 2017 Which dealers here will be carrying these models?
desray Posted October 14, 2017 Posted October 14, 2017 Early morning today, Sony rep texted me to inform that the new Sony 4K UHD laser projector (VW760ES) will make its debut appearance in the upcoming ISSE 2017 later this year. The MSRP is around $25K but likely there will be a promotional show price. For those interested may wish to mark your calendar and head down to the ISSE Sony booth...likely to be Sound Decisions (if no change in dealership?). The price still exorbitant for a 4K laser projector...with Optoma and BenQ (Taiwanese brands and China also) coming up with more afforable faux-4K with UHD and HDR, hopefully Sony will take a leaf and push down the 4K laser projector sooner rather than later...anyway, the VW760ES pricing, though still quite ex is a step in the right direction.
eggz Posted October 23, 2017 Posted October 23, 2017 any info if Sony has resolve the SXRD panel degradation issue? What was the conclusion, is it real or is still a problem?

(my HW40es also looks like a bit washed out) Your unit is still under warranty? The whole picture lost contrast and wash out, looks like projector running with full ambient light. I was lucky as I sent it in a few days before the 3 year warranty lapsed, Sony Singapore still honored their warranty and did a total optical block replacement, on paper it was marked as $3000 but done as warranty repair. Yes very lucky, I could not find time to get it serviced and dragged on until I randomly checked my receipt, OMG few days left, I took leave to send the PJ in. I am also keeping my fingers crossed now, but enjoying the superb PQ and hope to use for 3 years till 4k laser HDR projector with motorised zoom becomes affordable. Now just hoping that Sony managed to fix the panel degradation issue, or else may be going for the Epson TW8300W if my HW40es conks out again. Sent from my SM-G935F using Tapatalk
