Batty Posted July 8, 2017 Posted July 8, 2017 no where as good as any on here, but I found a dead bug. 4
ArthurDent Posted July 8, 2017 Posted July 8, 2017 If it's dead why aren't it's legs all curled up. Perhaps it's just resting 1
soundbyte Posted July 8, 2017 Posted July 8, 2017 If it were in fact dead you should be able to see where you let the smoke out!
hired goon Posted July 9, 2017 Posted July 9, 2017 (edited) Brisbane has had probably the best sunset and sunrise all year this weekend, just when I have a sore ankle and can't drive around anywhere But I did manage to take a happy snap of today's fiery sunrise from my front yard: The Heart Of The Sunrise Nikon D750 camera + Nikkor 24-85 lens @ 85mm, f/5.6. ISO 100, 1/80 sec. --Geoff Edited July 9, 2017 by hired goon 9
hired goon Posted July 9, 2017 Posted July 9, 2017 (edited) Reflections at the lake tonight: Nikon D750 camera + Nikkor 20mm lens @ f/16, ISO 50, 20 seconds A bit over-exposed in the middle but there's lots of cloud porn. --Geoff Edited July 10, 2017 by hired goon 9

O.Sydney Posted July 11, 2017 Posted July 11, 2017 I haven't posted in a long while in the audio threads or photography. Considering Mark came up for a visit to the Sydney Audio Club on the weekend ... Time for a post, here's a shot from Blues Fest in Byron Bay earlier in the year, Ty Taylor from Vintage Trouble doing their thing. I got some shots in 2016 as well. More photos on the website 10
O.Sydney Posted July 12, 2017 Posted July 12, 2017 And this was one performance I was really looking forward to, Carlo Santana I was at the sound desk for this show, the area was just so packed, it was rather difficult just getting to the sound desk half hour before show time. The pit would have been crazy busy. Shot with the Nikkor 300mm PF and cropped 10
O.Sydney Posted July 14, 2017 Posted July 14, 2017 Troy Andrews from Trombone Shorty at Blues Fest 2017 I don't normally cook my images so much in post processing but this one just worked for me a little more roasted 10
awty Posted July 15, 2017 Posted July 15, 2017 (edited) I bought an 8 x 10 pinhole camera. A box with a very small hole, cant get much more low tech than that. Very wide lens angle of about 100 degrees. Had the tripod in the fountain. Didnt get quite the frame I wanted. 10 minute exposure on 100 iso film, contact print and a print scan. Pretty sharp in the middle. Edited July 15, 2017 by awty 6

Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk Expand Like I said, a box with a very small hole in it. Has a 52mm thread so I can use a filter, maybe could slow it down further with an ND filter Actually you can use photo paper which is a lot cheaper than negative film and most recommend a yellow filter and pre fogging/flashing the paper to cut down on contrast. Anyhow should be able to get some interesting seascapes and water fall type pictures. 3

Expand At a place I was working at a while back, just after I started there, the boss came in to see how I was going working on a piece of gear (programmable MIG welder), that the other blokes working there had given up on. I don't think he had a lot of confidence in my ability to fix something I had no previous experience on. I told him yeah no worries, it's fixed. He asked what was wrong with it. I told him it just had a dead spider in it, and pointed to the dead op amp on the bench, laying like the chip in your pic. He asked what I meant by the dead spider, so I counted the legs for him. He shook his head and walked away... 4
awty Posted July 17, 2017 Posted July 17, 2017 (edited) A little family cemetery (well I only counted two different family names amongst couple of dozen plots) near Wivenhoe. Nikon f4, 50mm lens, fp4 @ 80 iso, ilfosal3 @ 4 mins. Edited July 17, 2017 by awty 8

robin-hobart Posted July 18, 2017 Posted July 18, 2017 Couple iPic snaps from this morning's muttwalk. About 5 deg C. Hobart's "Bridgewater Jerry" - a frequent winter fogbank that makes it's way down the Derwent and dissipates in the harbour. Taken from Mt Stuart - two looking NE over Northern suburbs; one towards the City. 5
