ArthurDent Posted October 11, 2014 Posted October 11, 2014 (edited) First outing for the new toys. Some snaps from yesterdays Zombie Shuffle. Lightroom hasn't been updated for the D750 yet so shot both NEF and JPG and these are from the JPG's so look a bit soft and flat. #1, zombie1.jpg, Nikon D750, AF-S NIKKOR 24-85mm f/3.5-4.5G ED VR, 48mm f5.6 1/500 ISO-100. #2, zombie2.jpg, Nikon D750, AF-S NIKKOR 24-85mm f/3.5-4.5G ED VR, 85mm f5.6 1/60 ISO-200. #3, zombie3.jpg, Nikon D750, AF-S Nikkor 70-300mm f/4.5-5.6G IF-ED VR, 92mm f5.6 1/640 ISO-100. #4, zombie4.jpg, Nikon D750, AF-S Nikkor 70-300mm f/4.5-5.6G IF-ED VR, 80mm f5.6 1/160 ISO-100. #5, zombie5.jpg, Nikon D750, AF-S Nikkor 70-300mm f/4.5-5.6G IF-ED VR, 70mm f5.6 1/250 ISO-100. Spearmint Posted October 11, 2014 Posted October 11, 2014 Nice shots KT ! You can always use the Nikon NX software to convert the NEF files so you can edit in LR
ArthurDent Posted October 11, 2014 Posted October 11, 2014 Nice shots KT ! You can always use the Nikon NX software to convert the NEF files so you can edit in LR Thanks Spearmint. Too much work converting and messy. I'd rather wait for Lightroom to be updated as then I can setup the import presets and it's all too easy. They've already done PS so can't be far away.

Did you add any sharpness or are they jpgs straight from the 750 ?
hired goon Posted October 12, 2014 Posted October 12, 2014 That D750 looks like a noice camera. I was thinking of upgrading to the 5D3/5D4 but getting tempted to move to the dark side ... BTW latest camera raw updates for D750 are here: http://blogs.adobe.com/lightroomjournal/2014/10/1366.html?PID=3006718 --Geoff
ArthurDent Posted October 12, 2014 Posted October 12, 2014 looks like fun ! Did you add any sharpness or are they jpgs straight from the 750 ? I've got Lightroom setup to sharpen for the screen when I export but no added sharpening. Waste of time with a JPEG isn't it Like all Nikons their JPG conversion needs tweaking to get it right. The D7100 for example is really soft so you have to crank up the Sharpness. I've seen plenty of OOC JPGs from a D750 and they look pretty good so with a bit of work it's possible. I haven't bothered playing with the JPG settings at all and I have everything else turned off. I have the NEFs and when LR gets it's D750 update I'll process them. 1

These days, IMO, the differences between the various camera manufactures comes do to user experience and what we're comfortable with in both feel and operation. So long as you shoot RAW, or tweak the standard in camera settings for JPEG, they can all produce very similar images, lens and sensor dependant of course. I was just trying to explain to my daughter in the US who is wanting to purchase some additional glass that depending on what she wants to use the images for will need to be considered, whether to look at consumer or pro lenses, regardless of the body she is using.

If I was going to jump from the mirrorless ship the 750 is putting on a good show and tempting for more demanding work
Newman Posted October 12, 2014 Posted October 12, 2014 What's the new lens minty? Your first few shots posted had me thinking 100 L but now I'm thinking zoom.
