mickj1 Posted January 10, 2015 Posted January 10, 2015 well thanks for the nice words AF, there are heaps of great photographers posting on here (some of them professional) and not all of them use DSLRs. My first posts were with a cheap point and shoot, but as with you the quality of pics from others made me want to do better - i'm still trying Cheers mick
Gregg Froman Posted January 10, 2015 Posted January 10, 2015 Legselevens - that shot was taken at the Camel Festival in Pushkar, India (Rajasthan area) Thanks!! 1
Newman Posted January 10, 2015 Posted January 10, 2015 The collared sparrowhawks have produced a couple of fledglings: parent: fledglings smaller fledgling - I'm not sure whether the size difference is male/female or due to different birth dates. Cheers mick Angry Birds .... straight from the egg to you. Very nice. 1

Gee Emm Posted January 12, 2015 Posted January 12, 2015 (edited) Why is it, sometimes you can't take a decent photo with a decent camera, and sometimes an iPhone5 is just the right thing at the right time!? I was walking the the dog & heard a heady buzz of bees as I walked past these flowers. I only had my iPhone5 in one hand and a 25kg staffy pulling on a lead on the other hand... ArthurDent Posted January 19, 2015 Posted January 19, 2015 The tram went ding, ding, ding and I wasn't even standing on the tracks. #1, city20.jpg, Nikon D750, AF-S NIKKOR 24-85mm f/3.5-4.5G ED VR, 24mm f5.6 1/1500 sec ISO-400. #2, city21.jpg, Nikon D750, AF-S NIKKOR 24-85mm f/3.5-4.5G ED VR, 85mm f5.6 1/1000 sec ISO-400. 6
Grumpy Posted January 19, 2015 Posted January 19, 2015 (edited) Not a good pic taken with my little LUMIX Look! up in the Sky, is it a Bird, a Plane, NO! it's a helicopter towing a HUGE promo flag around Adelaide yesterday. (probably something to do with the Tour Downunder?) Edited January 19, 2015 by Grumpy 1
ArthurDent Posted January 19, 2015 Posted January 19, 2015 (edited) Like the feel in #1 Ken cheers mick Thanks Mick. Just around sunset is a really nice time of day for pics. Pity about the annoying tram driver I like the tall one as well because of the curving tram track but there is perhaps too much going on in the sky. Here's a crop from the bottom of the frame which probably gets the point across better. Not sure what the guy in the light blue top is doing but he's sure got the attention of the boys in blue. Two with him and another two right of frame (one out of frame) heading his way. #3, city22.jpg, Nikon D750, AF-S NIKKOR 24-85mm f/3.5-4.5G ED VR, 85mm f5.6 1/1000 sec ISO-400. Addicted to music Posted January 19, 2015 Posted January 19, 2015 (edited) When I was younger, in my 20s, the Landscape around Flinders St Station was a little different then. I"ll never forget going westbound on Flinders St where @@KenTripp took that shot why all the traffic cops manning that intersection were all giving me a dirty look...... I check my speedo and it was sitting around 85km/hr. A few days later I got cautioned while I was doing a hook turn by an unmarked police vehicle, he let me off because I told him I was going to one of the Police station to fix there photocopier. The things you do when you were a lot younger the you regret when you're older! Now days I drive slower than a cautious old granny, when I had my dad in the car a few yrs back, he was telling me to speed up to the speed limit, even though there's a red ligh ahead!
