Here's one. Entrance to a nearby meditative garden.

[edit: that's weird, I did nothing more than resize using Microsoft Office Picture Manager, and it sucked all the life out of the pic. I will try again.]

Mesa Arch .. noice ... although the sky looks a bit overcooked perhaps?

I remember being there one sunrise, when the underneath of the arch glows red with the reflected light. Amazing.

White Night didn't offer as many photo ops as in previous years but I did get some neon.

I haven't even looked at the Air Show pics from yesterday yet but in the meantime a pic of Clarence who just picked up first place in the DPReview challenge "A Bokeh For a Loved One - shapes and lights". Yeah I know it's sad posting this sort of stuff but I really thought that cute little girl was going to take the prize :)

I went to the Avalon Airshow on Saturday and I don't think I've ever seen as many high end bodies and even higher end telephoto lenses anywhere. Canon and Nikon should have a stand there. I talked with a German guy for a while and on one of his D810's he had a 200-400 f4 (about $8k) and on the other, well you get the picture, and there were people walking around with even higher end Nikon glass. And these weren't the pro's just well heeled fans. The one that really did it for me was a young guy, probably not quite yet a teenager with a D810 and 80-400 which would have set his parents back around $7k. You'd hope for some decent family snaps wouldn't you. So on that note some of my humble efforts, mainly with a D7100 and crappy 70-300 so I could get some reach...

Yesterday was 15th of the first month in the Lunar Calendar - apparently worth celebrating...

post-108009-0-52700100-1425604040_thumb.

Shot with 70-200/2.8 + 2x Extender III at 400mm.. Tightly cropped coz at 400mm the moon is still a tiny dot.

Tighter crop to see the shake + extender softness in action.

Wish there'd be a cloudier sky (and maybe even some birds or bats or something)..

Yesterday's full moon is the smallest. Apr is the next super moon I think.. Shoot that before selling it?
