Two from the annual Wave Camp in 2017 (COVID cancelled it in 2020 and looking similar for 2021), just after dawn. Gliders from VIC, SA and elsewhere in NSW visit Canberra Gliding Club's airfield nr Cooma, for a week in which we hope to fly in lee-wave lift generated by the Snowy Mts in Westerly airflows.  The lines of lift are marked by lenticular (lens cross-section in shape) standing wave bars, like water ripples downstream of a rock.

This week has had similar weather, tempered by rain and excessively strong winds.

This landscape had nowhere to stop, pull over, and take a photo. So here's a link to Southern Alps photography to cover for that all too common thing, the PMO moment (Photographer's Missed Opportunity). They do great work!

My son is showing interest in getting into monochrome in a big way. He suggested I look at the Leica M-10 range......... had a look at some pics taken with these cameras, just incredible.......then I looked at the prices of the cameras..:ermm:

Here is my humble contribution to the number of great night photos of cities in Australia. Taken at a recent Blood Moon phenomena when the river was reasonably still, I was quite surprised to see the colourful reflection of Perth city on the Swan.  _DSF1406.thumb.jpeg.28bb679e4031edff2e2b448e8a474420.jpeg

Yesterday it was dolphins a few metres off the beach

Today it’s someone floating above it all

I wonder what he’s listening to
