i bought the 1st version end of last year which is personnal handbuilt by the owner of the company..the current version is based on the same design but some cosmetic changes..it does not impress me

Me too, I have the 1st generation amp. The built is solid with thick CNC casing, about 30kg+ weight. The sound is very clean, detail, and neutral. In my opinion, it is better than the Job pre/225 that I have owned before. I believe this new version will be an improvement.

I have the EX-M1 for about 2 weeks with about 50 hours of playtime, the sound is amazing for the price. Its a great jump from the 1st gen kinki and my previous Job pre/225. The sound is refine, dynamic, with good bass transient. The sound is neutral, not warm at all but very musical, full body. I hear a lot of micro details from my music collection that I did not notice before. I will keep this amp for a long time.

This thread deserves more attention man! Just like the Denafrips, Alvin has brought in yet another brand that performs way above what the asking price suggests.

I'm a proud new owner of this MIC Kinki Dac and Amp.. absolutely loving it so far!

Good to know another owner of Kinki amp. Really VFM.

My Kinki DAC-1 is on the way.

Nice! And we came from Job and TQ as well... hahaha. Maybe same same sounding setups we have  ;D

Hello all! I live in Singapore and am interested in buying the Kinki Studio EX-M1. However I would like to hear it first. I approached Alvin for an audition but unfortunately he is not set up for auditions. Would any of you kind souls be willing to let me hear your Kinki EX-M1? I appreciate that the sound I hear in your set up and room will be different to mine. But still, I think I will get an idea of the amplifier’s capabilities. Please PM me if you live in Singapore and wouldn’t mind me coming over for listen. Many thanks!

Hi All,

Just wanted to let you all know that fellow member Benlzy very kindly allowed me to audition his Kinki amp + dac in his home yesterday. I absolutely loved the sound! It was just... perfect. Benlzy did tell me that the speakers we were listening to were perhaps not the best for bass but were otherwise buttery smooth. Despite that the bass was very tight. I can only imagine a pair of speakers which are designed for better bass will sound even better with this amp. But its not just the bass that was good , the entire spectrum of sound was just perfectly reproduced. I have a class A amp amd i love what it does to the vocals (but I do not love its bass). The vocals on Kinky were as good as that on the class A amp as was the instrument seperation and sound stage. Alvin, I will be buying one soon! ;)

Glad you enjoyed the session Charan! Sorry I didn't have more time.. hope to hear impressions from your personal set soon :)

The speakers are the Hyperion hps-738, with twin side firing woofers. More enveloping feel rather than punchy in your chest bass. Nevertheless, without the ex-m1s grip on the bass, it'll easily sound too loose and flabby.

My sound preference is a smooth sweet presentation with slight warmness, but must also contain a certain level of detail and extension. Not the best for rock but still decent enough! Bought the speakers to 'play' but somehow it's growing on me.

More love for the amp, less for the dac haha. I have the dac too and it actually isn't bad sounding at all. Been a few months and I still love this kinki combo :3

Me too, love the combo.  Both are VFM, just that the amp is very very VFM.
