Dreamer.magix Posted March 22, 2021 Posted March 22, 2021 I have a rotel stereo amp without a sub out, but it has two channel speakers. I have read that I can connect one of the channel speakers of the rotel to the high level line in of the subwoofer. However my subwoofer does not have a high level line in but it has speakers line in. May I check with the experts here if I can connect to the speaker line in of the of the subwoofer. Attached is the picture of the subwoofer. Thanks.
pcking1624705747 Posted March 22, 2021 Posted March 22, 2021 The SPKR in on your subwoofer is meant for you to connect speaker outputs from stereo amps into it. So you can safely do so.

pcking1624705747 Posted March 23, 2021 Posted March 23, 2021 It's supposed to be connected to your stereo speakers. It's like a pass thru' connection from your stereo amp
YANG Posted March 23, 2021 Posted March 23, 2021 To connect to your speakers lah~~~ After you've connected the amplified sound output from your amp to the sub, your amp have no more ports for your speakers right? So... how do you get stereo sound from your speakers? From the sub lo... This connection makes your sub theoretically like a "filter" to "draw" the low frequencies for sub output, while letting the rest of highs and mids to the dedicated speakers.

In my case, the amp has two speaker channel, A and B. am I correct to say that i have two options in connecting to the sub: Option 1 Connect channel A of the amp to my stereo speakers and channel B to the sub speaker in. Option 2 Only use one channel. Connect either channel A or B of the amp to sub speaker in, and from sub speaker out connect to the stereo speaker.
