NoCoder Posted October 14, 2024 Posted October 14, 2024 Finished Shōgun on Disney + over the weekend and thoroughly enjoyed it.
Steff Posted October 14, 2024 Posted October 14, 2024 (edited) The Franchise is shaping up to be pretty funny. It's an "on the set of a super hero movie" satire, shades of The Thick of it crossed with The Office. Edited October 14, 2024 by Steff 1
cazzesman Posted October 24, 2024 Author Posted October 24, 2024 (edited) Hello you all. It's been a while. Enjoying some good shows at the moment. As @Steff said - the Franchise is terrific. The Lincoln Lawyer - Season 3. Easy viewing. David E Kelly doesn't do much wrong with the shows he is involved in. Shows coming back very soon that I will be all over Lioness - S2 The Diplomat - S2 Yellowstone - S? Bad Sisters - S2 Silo - S2 Cross - With Aldis Hodge. Happy viewing you lot. Steff Posted November 3, 2024 Posted November 3, 2024 Wolf Hall Season 2, starting November 10 on the BBC 1 2
cazzesman Posted November 3, 2024 Author Posted November 3, 2024 Creator Taylor Sheridan surely has to be the biggest name in TV at the moment. He has another show starting in a few weeks.......... Landman https://www.imdb.com/title/tt14186672/ Series Cast Billy Bob Thornton... Jon Hamm... Demi Moore... He also has the other shows in full flight Tulsa King Lioness Mayor of Kingstown 1923 Yellowstone 1883 Lioness is great fun. Sly Stallone in Tulsa King is easy viewing and a perfect Role for Sly. MofK is uber gritty. The Diplomat Season 2 has started. Well worth a viewing. Rivals - Raunchy, scandalous entertainment. Wonderful cast The Lincoln Lawyer - David E Kelly is always fun viewing. Happy Viewing. Regards Cazzesman 3

She Luuuuvvvvvvsssss the Period TV shows. An hour later she was back watching Eps 1 of S1 of Wolf Hall in preparation. Cheers Regards Cazzesman 1
agisthos Posted November 11, 2024 Posted November 11, 2024 Currently love 'From' which is on Stan. It's rare for a horror series like this to be a serialised show. Just watch the first 5 minutes of Episode 1 and then you will know. Also eagerly awaiting season 2 of Silo. And enjoying The Old Man.

cazzesman Posted November 15, 2024 Author Posted November 15, 2024 Finished The Penguin. Farrell and Milioti were simple amazing. After a slowish burn early on I thought the 2nd half of the 8 Eps was as good as anything going around. I couldn’t take my eyes off both leads. The Day of the Jackal with Eddie Redmayne is pitch perfect. Lioness has upped the anti in S2. Zoe Saldana is a wonderful Actor. when she goes off, she goes off! Most enjoyable. Tonight I will kick off with Cross. Aldis Hodge has been building his CV nicely. In this Series he plays Alex Hodge the character from the James Patterson novels. Hopefully they have done as good of a job as they did with the Bosch TV series. The Diplomat is more of a crime thriller this season. Extremely well written. Rory Kinnear steals every scene he is in. Happy viewing you lot. Regards Cazzesman. 1
awayward Posted November 16, 2024 Posted November 16, 2024 A major flashback tonight on the ABC, for the older Aussies here, Countdown 50 years on, nice to revisit.
cazzesman Posted November 16, 2024 Author Posted November 16, 2024 Allison Janey in the Diplomat - Season 2 Eps 5 is a master class. I get it is how is supposed to be, but she makes Keri Russell look second-rate. Superb. Has Emmy Award Cameo written all over it. Such a good show. Regards Cazzesman 1
muon* Posted November 17, 2024 Posted November 17, 2024 The Penguin was great, very good indeed. But I'm finding Warrior even better, nearing end of season 2 and I rate it as the best I've seen in a long time. 1 1

Regards Cazzesman I've just started S2, 3 episodes in and it's been great. Love Allison Janney, so looking forward to her appearance. I just finished Plum on ABC. Thought it was well done and a solid watch. Brendan Cowell was excellent and plenty of other great Aussie actors throughout it. 3
cazzesman Posted November 18, 2024 Author Posted November 18, 2024 The Diplomat S2 Eps 6 Dreadnought. OMG! How brilliant is this show! Kinnear and Janney. Give them the Emmys now. Regards Cazzesman 3
Steff Posted November 19, 2024 Posted November 19, 2024 Not sure it will become part of "shows I love" but I am willing to try! Dune Prophecy -- or as we call it here, Game of Dunes - A Song of Fire and Spice started yesterday. 1

agisthos Posted November 19, 2024 Posted November 19, 2024 I just had a quick scan through the first episode of Dune Prophecy and from first glance it looked like they were going for 'Dune - A Handmaids Tale' 1 1

cazzesman Posted November 22, 2024 Author Posted November 22, 2024 https://www.imdb.com/title/tt14186672/ Landman. As per usual, I am glued to the TV Station that is - Written and Produced by 'Taylor Sheridan'. He is so, so prolific. I get where Steff is coming from. TS does have a formula but it just sucks me in. His casting is always so good. As a W&P&D........... You have his light weight more corny stuff like the Tulsa King. Sly Stallone hamming it up all over the screen. Then you have his uber gritty stuff like Mayor of Kingstown. Jeremy Renner all dark and broody. Violence is all around with Gangs and Street Level corruption. In the middle you have Lioness, that delves into the CIA and Political corruption. Zoe Saldana is a standout badass. Out on his range in Yellowstone and 1883 he is all about product placement and promoting his real-life Ranch the 6666. It is all the real Cowboy stuff he loves. Landman is about the Oil game and the trillions it brings in. Dropping a few million dollars on building a 500 metre road, that goes around another road, because the 1st road is blocked, is as simple as, 'Do it'. It has one of my all-time favourites in the Lead - Billy Bob Thornton. I would tune in to watch BBT open a letter. This character is picture-perfect for him to immerse himself in. He's old, tired, grizzled and plain worn out by all the utter BS. He doesn't suffer fools but he always has empathy when needed. Yeah cliched, but he does it so well. Eps 1 was a great starter. The Uber rich dealing in uber trillions and BBT simply trying to survive to make it all run 24/7/365. The opening scene and later monologue by BBT is a ripper. Enjoy. Regards Cazzesman 1
Godot Posted November 22, 2024 Posted November 22, 2024 Looks even darker/bleaker than season one. Love it. 1
cazzesman Posted November 22, 2024 Author Posted November 22, 2024 I found this..... Taylor Sheridan wrote his latest television series, Landman, specifically for Billy Bob Thornton. “I’m gonna write it with your voice,” the Yellowstone creator said, according to Thornton. The actor revealed in a Q&A after the premiere that he couldn’t believe Sheridan until he finally received the script. “I read it,” Thornton recalled, “and I go, ‘Boy, you did get my voice, didn’t you?’” In Landman (which debuted its first episodes today), Thornton plays Tommy Norris, a middleman for a Texas oil company. For fans of Sheridan's work, Tommy is very similar to Jeremy Renner's character in Mayor of Kingstown. Instead of brokering deals between Michigan prisons and the gangs outside its walls, Tommy negotiates on behalf of the oil company with the workers in the field. He’s a problem-solver. Tommy Norris is also a loudmouth, a self-proclaimed divorced alcoholic, and, yes, a character who was clearly written with Billy Bob in mind. Regards Cazzesman
