cazzesman Posted May 29, 2023 Author Posted May 29, 2023 A friend of ours use to work at the Melbourne City Council in a rather high up position. Over dinner one day she regaled us with the following story... She said after watching a Utopia Eps she arrived at work the next day and was called into her boss's office. He wanted her to hire professional to have the Meeting room swept for hidden listening devices. Her boss said he had seen Utopia the night before and said the script was way too close to a recent planning meeting he had been involved in. And he was serious A glorious show. Regards Cazzesman 1
NoCoder Posted June 1, 2023 Posted June 1, 2023 Watched the final episode of Ted Lasso last night. Loved it An absolute favourite of mine, it will be sorely missed. 2

So good, such relatable characters and stories. If you enjoyed this and haven’t seen “Friday Night Lights”, I highly recommend searching that out. It is somewhat of a challenge for Mrs Godot and me to find something we both enjoy and value, I get a bit bored with oldy worldy fancy costume rooting dramas (Bridgerton/Queen Charlotte) and she has about zero interest in a lot of sci-fi. So thank you Ted Lasso. 1

Really wasn't sold on this after watching the preview a month ago, but episode 1 was very good. I have read the book series a couple of times, so I was very keen to see the TV interpretation. I’m into it, it is an epic drama, it will be interesting to see how it plays out. So far so good. 1

The truly stunning 'The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel' came to an end. A brilliant finale. How joyous it was. Writers, Cast and all the rest were simply superb. They deserve all the accolades that will surely come their way. Season 8 of 'Inside No 9' ended. And what an ending it was. Ewwwww not a good way to go. Atleast there is a Season 9 planned. And rightly so. Season 3 of 'Ted Lasso' and the finale of the show, airs this week. Another wonderful ensemble of Writers and Actors. I know many critics are not happy with Season 3, but my wife and I are still loving it. It has Hannah Waddingham and Brett Goldstein on screen each episode, so what's not to love. For those that are a fan of Jason Sudeikis - He is terrific in a brand-new episode of 'First We Feast'. https://firstwefeast.com/video/jason-sudeikis-embraces-da-bomb-while-eating-spicy-wings-hot-ones My wife and I will also finish watching the Finale to Season 2 of 'Perry Mason'. Another quality series. Season 2 was abit more of a slow burn early on, but after Eps 3 if kicked into gear. Well worth a look. Time to find another 'Great' show. Not just a 'Good' show. They are like hen's teeth, but the search is on. The return of Raylan is not far away, so hopefully the previous high standards, remain intact. Happy viewing. Regards Cazzesman Feeling your pain, if a little delayed! In the last couple of weeks Mrs Godot have finished watching Ted Lasso, Beef and the Marvellous Mrs Maisel. Three very different shows but all excellent. Mrs Maisel is on another level, a truly extraordinary production, maintaining it’s mojo right to the end. 1
cazzesman Posted June 17, 2023 Author Posted June 17, 2023 They are back..... Black Mirror Star Trek - Strange New Worlds Regards Cazzesman
cazzesman Posted June 17, 2023 Author Posted June 17, 2023 Black Mirror - S6 Eps1. Salma Hayek - Glorious. I so love Mr Brooker. Regards Cazesman 1
cazzesman Posted July 11, 2023 Author Posted July 11, 2023 A couple of shows have my interest of late..... Gentleman Jack - I'm abit late to the party with this one. Started in 2019. Period show with great writing and perfect acting. Season 2 just started. Hijack - New Idris Elba series. Eps 1 very enthralling. A version of '24' on a plane. The Crowded Room - No spoilers here. Tom Holland shows he can really act with the best there is. Slow burn but well worth hanging in there. Critics haven't liked it, but it is one that needs time for the pay off. Jack Ryan S4 - Anything with Wendell Pierce and Michael Kelly has my vote. Krasinski is also a great lead. Silo - Another slow burn based on a SyFy book series. It hooked me in the end. Justified, Foundation and Good Omens 2 back soon. Happy Viewing. Regards Cazzesman 2

Regards Cazzesman Enjoyed Silo, and agree with your point on it. Love Jack Ryan and enjoying the new season. I thought S3 was the weakest of them so far, but this one is more promising. Have not watched Hijack yet...wasn't sure if it was going to be too far fetched for me..but I generally enjoy Idris, so will give it a go soon. 1
cazzesman Posted July 12, 2023 Author Posted July 12, 2023 Hijack is an interesting show. Very subtle build. No real histrionics, no unnecessary violence. Just enough is happening to keep you guessing as to where it is all going. I always love watching Neil Maskell ply his craft. In this instance, he just realising how much he doesn't know about the Plane he is on, and he is not a happy chappy. The interesting question will be how many other passengers, who are so far being discrete, reveal themselves as part of the Hijack. Nice to see Eve Myles again. I haven't really seen much of her since Torchwood. She has an ability to steal a scene without really trying. Regards Cazzesman
cazzesman Posted August 5, 2023 Author Posted August 5, 2023 I can't pump up Hijack enough. Very, very good seeing a scared, subdued Idris. Terrific finale. Blackmirror was hit and miss as has been mentioned. Paapa Essiedu is a very talented up and coming actor and I did enjoy his performance in S6 Eps 5 as Demon 79 If you are into sports then 'Quarterback' is a great 'fly on the wall' look at 3 NFL Quarterbacks. Good Omens 2 hasn't missed a beat. Everyone nailing each Character so far. Real Life Besties Tennant and Sheen are just beautiful together. Utopia is still making me cringe week in week out. I love/hate it for different reasons. I have recently, much to my disdain, been given a desk/admin job at my place of employ. A few months ago, I informed my boss, that over the next 12 months I was working towards retirement. From 1/7/23 - A month on, month off with LSL. Benching me was their response. I guess I get it, but I hate it. The previous 35 years was spent on the road, working with people I love, doing the thing I love. I recently got a T-Shirt printed with an image of the cast of Utopia. I'm wearing it Monday. @#$% it is painful sitting amongst self-serving administrators, who don't really want me there because we see things from opposite ends of the spectrum. I have 460 sick days in the back pocket after 40 years, so I.......'cough, cough' might use a few, sooner rather than later. Still, I digress. Special Ops: Lioness - Another Taylor Sheridan TV show. Does that man ever sleep? Not bad after 3 eps. Gritty as always. Nice to see a show based around female actors. Story is based around the CIA planting an Undercover into a Crime syndicate. Justified - City Primeval is just going for me. I miss the banter Raylan had with the dumb Red Neck folks in the previous seasons. Timothy Olyphant's daughter Vivian is great playing Raylan's daughter in the show. Raylan needs real sidekicks to bounce off like he had with Boyd, Art, Rachael and Tim in the Original. I'm hanging waiting for some Raylan zingers. The bad dudes in this show are just evil and not merely stupid. Star Trek - Strange new worlds - wow what an eclectic season it has been. Each episode has gone from one extreme to another. Eps - Subspace Rhapsody was a blinder. The Directors freely admit they stole the Idea from Buffy, and this musical ep was brilliant. Probably not one for Trekkie purists but I thought it was a hoot. The Klingons were hilarious. Happy viewing. Regards Cazzesman 2

This kind of treatment just seems like wasted opportunities to me. Without knowing anything about the particulars of your situation, I had a partly similar experience years ago. I gave several months notice to an employer of 19 years, thinking I was being helpful, giving them plenty of time to recruit a replacement and do some training. They responded by keeping me around but removing my work station! They still required me to attend but gave me no idea what they expected, very frustrating and confusing. Stay strong and ignore the muppets. No offence intended to actual muppets. Back to shows, Mrs Godot and I have just started watching “Russian Doll”, I like it, darkly quirky, sparingly humorous, interesting characters and I have no idea where it is headed. 1

cazzesman Posted August 16, 2023 Author Posted August 16, 2023 Loving the new Netflix show Painkiller https://time.com/6303583/painkiller-netflix-true-story/ Directed by Peter Berg who has done some good stuff in the past as an actor and director. Matthew Broderick is brilliant as Richard Sackler, the President of Purdue Pharma who created OxyContin . If you loved the brilliant Dopesick, you would love this. What an insidious family the Sackler's are and their company Purdue. Purdue almost single handedly destroy an entire Country. Regards Cazzesman 2
cazzesman Posted August 27, 2023 Author Posted August 27, 2023 https://www.rottentomatoes.com/tv/quarterback I am loving the Netflix show 'Quarterback' more and more. I think it is because the 3 stars - NFL quarterbacks Patrick Mahomes, Kirk Cousins and Marcus Mariota are such genuinely nice guys. They work so hard at their craft, and each is so well grounded in their family life. Tough gig getting run over by 300lb trucks, 5-10 times a game, but I guess they get paid well to do it. I do worry about the future of the brains once they get past 45. You don't have to be an NFL fan to appreciate what they are going through. Great show and really well edited. Regards Cazzesman
NoCoder Posted September 4, 2023 Posted September 4, 2023 Just finished 2 shows - The Lost Flowers of Alice Hart - Australian drama on Amazon Prime with a good cast, including Sigourney Wearver. Thought she was excellent in it. My wife loved this show and and enjoyed it. Special Ops: Lioness - Another show bought to the world by Taylor Sheridan (does this man ever sleep?) and on Paramount + . Really liked this one and has a very solid cast. 1
cazzesman Posted September 4, 2023 Author Posted September 4, 2023 Big thumbs up for Lioness. Really enjoyed it. I will check out Flowers. To go with 'Quarterback' I just finished 'Untold- Swamp Kings' on Netflix. Another amazing NFL Doco. The USA college football scene is mind-blowing. I did a big Google search on College Football after the show and the size and scale of it is off the charts. Some of the Head Coaches are getting paid incredible money. WTF!!!!!! https://sports.usatoday.com/ncaa/salaries/football/coach Regards Cazzesman 1
