maximus Posted February 21, 2013 Posted February 21, 2013 Hi all, Just wondering if anyone has experienced this problem. I was vacuuming the lounge about 5 to 6 feet away from speakers when loud popping sound was heard. First impressions was the cleaner but it happened again seconds later. Turned cleaner off then placed my hands firmly but not hard over power amp when a loud buzzing sound occurred. Put into standby immediately. At the time of vacuuming the System was powered on but not playing, volume control at 0 on preamp. I generally leave it in standby 24/7. This loud buzzing sound occurred before Christmas when swapping in and out interconnects and American power cables. Took the amp back to Secher audio who gave it the all clear...nothing wrong with it. This sound is excruciating and first thoughts is damage to speaker and amp. Could it be possibly be anything else, i e earthing or connection issues...cd player. Input greatly appreciated before handing system back to Secher. System consists of : Advantage S1 cd/pre/digital volume control. Bladelius preamp/power amp JL audio f110 sub woofer operating in balanced mode. Harmonic tech power cables with american connections Harmonic tech/Dallas Clarke interconnects. Dallas Clarke made bi wired speaker cables. Consonance power filter. ** The system was playing as per normal since receiving from Secher 2 months ago. cheers Frank.
