catman Posted August 24, 2021 Posted August 24, 2021 (edited) G'day all, although things are generally ok up here in Queensland I have to admit that my head to getting somewhat messed up by the general situation in Australia and around the world. As it presently stands I look forward to two things every day, some kind of exercise and or gym training and listening to music, preferably on record. Right now I am listening to Dave Brubeck Greatest Hits on vinyl, and it's making me smile and sometimes that is rare these days! Regards, Felix. Edited August 24, 2021 by catman Grammar. 6
Guest Posted September 7, 2021 Posted September 7, 2021 Hang in there @catman - we're all struggling and have to find that thing that gives us some peace, even if only briefly. I'm personally lost with out my PT training which I did three mornings a week. It then motivated me to get some extra home sessions and rides in too. Without that, I've done nothing and didn't realise how much I needed it. We're all just looking for light at the end of the tunnel and hope. It will come, in time. 1
audiofeline Posted September 10, 2021 Posted September 10, 2021 I think that one of the few benefits of being in lockdown for audiophiles is that it gives us more time to listen to music - and hopefully that is critical/mindful listening. And we've had plenty of lockdown experience in Melbourne. Brubeck's music is something to lighten the mood. I've been enjoying a reworking of one of his pieces that's used in a TV ad recently (possibly Blue Rhondo a la Turk). 1
