ho_kuku Posted June 29, 2019 Posted June 29, 2019 Thanks for the information. I did try the method you mentioned in the last sentence but without success. A very challenging DAC to play with... not plug and play type. Bro. My bad Su6 is slightly different Last 2 dp switch must be on in order to switch to the ps audio protocol https://download.shenzhenaudio.com/Singxer/Singxer%20SU-6%20handbook.pdf See page 4

ho_kuku Posted June 30, 2019 Posted June 30, 2019 Bro, you are very good. Thanks. Np at all bro, hows the su6 playing along with the termi? Good synergy? I havent heard the su6 yet - but reviews say its very good. Much much better than su1. Also what hdmi cables are you using? Just curious on your impression with your new toy ;)
alvin1118 Posted June 30, 2019 Author Posted June 30, 2019 Thanks @ho_kuku. The instructions posted was for the MK1 DSP board. Funkyjazz has the new DSP board. The i2s pinout configuration is different. The trick is the "Mute" button has to engage before you can press the "Phase" button to configure the I2S-A pinout. Steps as follow: 1. Select I2S-A input 2. Press the Mute button. Once the DAC is muted, the input led blinks from left to right 3. Press Phase button momentarily multiple times, you will see 1x 2x 4x led on/off in a fixed pattern, denote binary 000-111. 4. Stop pressing Phase button when you see 1x led on, and, 2x 4x led off. This will configure the I2S-A input to psaudio i2s standard. 5. Set the Singxer su6 i2s dip switch to psaudio standard. 6. Bingo
ho_kuku Posted June 30, 2019 Posted June 30, 2019 Halo Alvin, understand that the dsp board allows playback of higher bitrate If one is not into upsampling - do you think it makes a difference?

The synergy is good between SU6 and Termi. DSD file shine with the i2s. HDMI cable do make a difference. Previously I am using Audioquest chocolate. It sound analytical. I just change to DH labs HDMi, its more musical. But compare to Coax BNC, I am using Black cat cable, BNC is still more musical. Although it lose out in the clarity, details and dynamic. SU6 is way better than SU1. But mod SU1 is not far from SU6.

benlzy Posted July 1, 2019 Posted July 1, 2019 Anyone can tried Terminator and Chord Dave? Any feedback is appreciated. Know the same guy who sold the Terminator and got Dave ;D Personally during the comparison, I very much preferred the Terminator in terms of tonality, musicality and warmth. The terminator to me is already very detailed and though the Dave is indeed more detailed, it sounded a bit too sterile and lacks emotion. However, I've heard that the dave + mscaler + dual bnc really makes the Dave more 'organic' and listenable. The guy has also upgraded from BS to FS and now may have more bass than he can handle ;D , so the term's strong bass characteristic may now be a negative instead of a plus~ Best if you get to audition it in your own setup!
MusicEar Posted August 8, 2019 Posted August 8, 2019 Hi Alvin, Do you know when will there be demo for Ares II? I would like to try out Roon ROCK via USB connection. I would be using to partner Auralic Aries Mini as endpoint in my room (currently I'm using Aries mini built-in DAC). https://www.denafrips.com/single-post/2019/08/02/Product-Launch-ARES-II Thank you. Guy
chimaera1982 Posted August 9, 2019 Posted August 9, 2019 Hi Guys I have the Terminator in my system coming about to 2 years now thereabouts. Bought 2nd in HK when I was living there and brought back to SG. Connected to lumin U1 mini as source with thumbrive full of lossless cd rip/high resolution download. Going to get tidal in a little while too. Was wondering I usually power it off if I don't use it. All are powered by MIT Z powerboat. I've read that the best is to leave it turned on non- stop, not even on standby. To get best possible sound quality. Is this should be the way? Looking for feedback. Thanks
