I had a shit week last week, picked up on by a few of my mates.
So they organised a Zoom session on Friday night, for no other purpose than to talk sh!t, and have a few drinks in the process.

As much as I dislike the whole "virtual" thing, I must admit it did me wonders. Highly recommended.

Maybe we should get a StereoNET Zoom on a Friday night for locked down members? I find when you have too many people on a Zoom it's hard to have any meaningful conversations though.

Great idea Marc. Glad the Zoom helped you out and I hope this week is going better. Like a lot of Melbourne members, I'm going thru what I'm calling depression-lite. Coping okay but minimal motivation, eating and drinking too much, and who wants to go for a walk if you have to wear a mask :emot-bang:, and the same 5km loop on a bike ain't much fun either.

I have lots of friends here I really appreciate, but not sure I could call them close mates so only catch up at GTG's etc.

My wife is a passionate Melbourne member so no chance of me being there this Friday. Go Dees!

Yeah I've gone from riding 100+ kms a week to nothing. With lockdown fatigue, comes lack of motivation even when you know it would so much good for you.

The roles have reversed, my wife has gone from no riding at all to riding 30-40kms a day. But then, she's responsible for the home schooling, so I don't blame her!

We are getting close to buying a smart Tacx bike to do more Zwift while the kids do schooling in the next room, or for next winter when the cold stops me getting out of bed for an early ride.

I got my fist road tubeless puncture about a month ago and then pinched the only spare tube I had. Had to call the Mrs to pick me up. It took me 2 weeks to buy the gear to fix it as the sealant had gone off and wouldn't seal the hole. Installed new sealant and couldn't get 1 tyre to seat itself with only a road track pump. Had to take it to the bike shop to use their compressor. I've now set a 6 monthly reminder in my phone to replace sealant.

This forum's a nice idea - well done.

Yeah, I'm part of a circle of chums who get together once a month to listen  / review  an  album. Like a book club - but with a record.

The album must be new - so we don't get stuck listening to same-old same-old. and it's a nose-to-tail listen.

During our last lockdown we used zoom and other platforms to have a sync'ed listening session.  It actually worked really well. There are platforms that let you listen / DJ > all sync'ed in real time and hand the controls over when someone else wants to chuck a track on.

And there are no issues getting home after a bit of revelry ; )

True, it's not quite the same as an in-person GTG, but is was an interesting experiment, and fun just for that reason.

There are no awkward silences - just cool tunes.

I haven't tried it but, I think even Spotify has a sync'ed listening option.

Stay up lock-downers : )

I gave tubeless away years ago. Too much trouble.

I now run http://www.tannus.com.au/products/armour/ and not a worry in the world about that now.

I did go close to a year without a puncture though. Those armour things take all the road feel away on a road bike. I used to have gatorskins on my commuter bike and hated the feel. Tubeless has been a revelation on the road, but no system is without issue. I'll be better prepared next time.
